Simply the best pizza you will find south of Napoli. A great overall value, as prices are low for the outstanding quality and quantity of the pizza served. It is a little difficult to find, but you are unlikely to find tourists there. I travel annually to the area and going to Cristofero’s for pizza is always on our agenda. It is a favorite pizzeria of many of the locals in the area, which(if you know how picky Italians are with their food) tells you all you need to know.

When we arrived the lot was almost empty and very few people were waiting for their pizza inside. We had trouble ordering so the guys behind the counter explained to us how it works. First pizzas are sold by the meter. Either 50 cm or a full meter. So you choose a base pizza(margherita, …) and then you can add three toppings. We choose prosciutto, parmesan and arugula on a margharita base(total of 7 euros for 2 people). Omg that was a lot of pizza for this money, and it was served super quickly. Once you ordered, you can choose to take away or to setup your own table. If you stay, you can just take a disposable tablecloth and platics plates available at the counter. I would highly recommend you to stay: right after we took our order, customers kept flowing in the place. Quickly, the local got full of families waiting for their orders, children running around… which made the experience very authentic.

Never written a Unilocal review before today – but had to show some(English) support for Pizzeria Cristoforo. While this is probably not the absolute best pizza in/around Napoli… it certainly qualifies as AMAZING by any North American standard and the overall experience was the best of any pizzeria I visited during 2-weeks in Italy. At 10PM on a Friday night, the place was PACKED with families. probably 50 kids running around the place… and not another tourist in sight. If you’re looking for hip & chic, this is not your best bet. It proved to be a FANTASTIC family oriented experience that showed us what Friday night looks like in Italy well beyond the glow of tourist lights. We walked in and quickly looked clueless. While the restaurant works on a sort-of self serve/cafeteria style model, a 15 year old bus boy took pity on us and basically picked out pizzas, appetizers, drinks, and desserts for our group of four. He took care of us from start to finish. We were entertained and well fed on a Friday night… all for € 30. On the short-list for highlight of the trip.
