Simply fantastic! Everything, the mussels, caprese, gnocchi and desserts were to die for. This isn’t a tourist spot… It’s a local placed owned and frequented by Venetians… The location as of this review provided by Unilocal is incorrect thought. It’s a quick walk from the Rialto Bridge at Calle San Matio o del Marangon 814.

Venitian Traditional food with a modern contemporary touch Food @ it s best, all beautifully prepared, the way it should be made, not for nothing local people eat there on a regular basis. Super Fresh ingredients right from the RIALTO main market. Cannot wait to get back !!! the Host Alvise makes the difference you are looking for in suggesting the perfect menu from the catch of the day.

Dreadful. The only good dish for our table was an assorted fish appetizer. I bitterly regretted the beef with potatoes – very overcooked and tasteless. Two of our party were splitting a pizza and a salad; the pizza simply never showed up. I think the waiter had forgotten it. We waited for ages while the waiter, who seemed to be the owner, kept telling us it was nearly ready. We finally decided to leave, an hour after the other dishes had been finished, and the owner was very unpleasant about it. There was no attempt to apologize or try to make things right; they seemed far more intent on trying to make it our fault – a real head-scratcher! Things go wrong sometimes in the best of restaurants, but a good restaurant gracefully makes it right instead of insulting the customers.

This has been the worst restaurant I have experienced. Not only was the food less than par but the staff and owner were terribly rude. I ordered the grilled vegetables as a starter. The trouble began when I noticed near the kitchen that there was a microwave. As I stepped away from my table for the ladies room I noticed that there was a plate of vegetables in the microwave and hoped they were not mine. Upon my return the first course began at my table, however there were no vegetables for me. The rest of my table finished their plates and as the second course was being handed out I asked about the grilled veggies. They said they would bring it out immediately & there they were, the same plate I saw earlier in the microwave, but since they were forgotten about they were half cold half luke warm. When my waitress returned I explained that I did not care for the dish and it did not seem fresh. She took the plate away and then the owner of the restaurant came to my table to ask what was wrong. I explained and he began to tell me that I must be use to «frozen food as this was fresh.» Without trying to argue with the man I apologized and said I’m sorry I just didn’t like it. He continued to make a scene of questions and insults, and said they were cooked earlier this morning. Mind you I ordered this dish around 830 pm. But… he never offered to see how to fix the problem he just stormed off! The second course spaghetti pomodori.(spaghetti with tomatoes). It was average not what I had hoped or lately experienced at other great restaurants here in Italy. I didn’t want to waste the effort to eat it because the 3rd course was coming, Steak and potatoes. This was an embarrassing dish. It was skirt steak and well over done and the potatoes were over salted. I couldn’t even eat it. Sorry to say this was the absolute worse restaurant experience between the US, Mexico and Italy. Please don’t go here!

A nearby shop owner near the market recommended this gem explaining that he sees the owner in the market everyday picking out fresh ingredients. The owner was extremely personable and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Not surprisingly, it seemed as if every Italian who walked by stopped to say hi to him. As for the food, it was amazing. My salad was crisp, the seafood was fresh and skillfully prepared, and the bread was the best we’ve tasted in Italy. If you’re in the Rialto area, avoid the tourist traps and stop by Antico Pizzo Risorto. You won’t be disappointed.
