I didn’t go to the restaurant upstairs, I came here for the cicchetti and spritzers. It’s kinda like fast food so you get to the counter and just order whatever looks good otherwise the staff behind the counter may be slightly annoyed. But you really can not go wrong because everything is delicious and inexpensive. It’s hard to find and mostly locals come here but well worth the visit.

Worst place I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. The pasta with was small and disgusting. The waiters were unwelcoming.

STAYAWAY. If you are looking at eating in the restaurant section of this place, run in the opposite direction and find literally anything else! We started with rock hard STALE bread, which we were charged for even after complaining. Then, we were brought(suspiciously quickly) our pasta dishes… AWFUL. VERYTINY, and tasted gross. On the first bite… an overload of salt, squishy pasta that tasted frozen, mushy meat like from a bad Wendy’s chili. It was a nightmare, and we all immediately started discussing it in amazement! Suddenly the stale bread wasn’t all that bad in comparison! Our servers seemed very confused the entire time, like we were their only customers of the week, or they had never even seen customers. It took three of them, communicating in Italian, to determine how to respond when we asked for the check. One member of our party didn’t eat any more and complained and asked for a refund for her meal, and the server’s response was«but your friend ate it.» Incredibly rude and not understanding at all. We were all unanimously very disappointed. I don’t often give 1 star ratings, but this truly deserves a 0.

I read the reviews and decided to have dinner here for my first night in Venice… I was severely disappointed! My entrée was not that nice and the polenta was slimy in taste. The spaghetti carbonara was also cold.

Three words. Squid. Ink. Pasta. Do it! The squid ink pasta I had wasn’t too salty or weird as I thought it may turn out to be. Just a hint of saltiness and an earthiness that may be attributed to the sliced truffle(I believe it was a truffle/mushroom, hard to tell when it’s all black) but delicious all the same. Do not panic a day later in the bathroom, because yes that black ink keeps its color on the way out. The fact that this location is hard to find and really seems to be a hole in the wall place from the outside, and spacious lair with an outdoor seating in the back adds to its charm. You’d have to be hopelessly lost or absolutely a local to find it. Excellent service here too.

Ricotta with a taste of seafood was great. We were hungry but we read some reviews and decide to take a look. As we left we saw that we had a 4 course meal for 38 euro. I posted a pic of the menu. The staff is friendly. The place initially was hard to find. The default to Google maps is wrong. I submitted a change.

Cicchetti time! Our walking tour ended at this cute little bar, and we were starving and loaded up on a bunch of cicchetti and a few spritz. This bar had a greater variety of options including polenta and fried dumplings, although I thought the pickings were hit or miss. The squid ink polenta had more to be desired(way too salty and didn’t taste fresh). The ham and mozzarella fried dumpling was interesting although a bit on the soggy end. Their topped breads were slightly above par than other venues, although presentation was noticeably better. They did better with color and texture combinations and I thought they were better tasting than other venues. Free wifi and ample seating makes this place a reliable restaurant, although you might be able to find better on the island.

This is a great spot. Great pasta and house wine. Reasonably priced as well. But be warned the map is not the right directions. It’s by the rialto bridge. Happy findings!

Enjoyed the relaxed genuine atmosphere, courtyard is typical Venetian. Nice crowd, cool hosts. Delicious food. Some live music. You can mix and match small plates of very Italian bruschetta or Venetian seafood by piece for a euro or two each. Ideal if you like to taste various choices or control your portions according to how hungry you are! Drinks are good and priced to please. I have never paid € 2.5 for a glass of Prosecco in NY!!! It was very good, of course I had few. :)

Restaurant à l’ambiance chaleureuse, éloigné des rues touristiques. Service rapide.

Our tour guide brought my friend and me here. It’s hard to find a good place to eat in Venice, especially in touristic areas. This one is near the Rialto bridge, and most of the people who dine there are locals. They had many gluten free options, which was great for me. My dish was absolutely delicious, and I spent about $ 36 on a main and a glass of wine. They gave me lots of gluten free crackers and gluten free cookies for dessert at no extra cost. Waiters were incredibly polite and there is no extra charge for bread or being seated. They also have lots of option for cichetti if you don’t want to spend a fortune.

This place was OK. It wasn’t the best meal we ate in our two weeks in Italy, and it was far from the worst. We ordered the ricotta and spinach lasagna and the seafood linguini. Both were good, neither was memorable. It was expensive, as Venice tends to be, and the ambiance at the restaurant was lousy. They didn’t want to break up an empty four-person table so they sat us directly next to another couple, which was awkward. The service was average. On the bright side, they brought us out free limoncello shots and biscotti. But the meal was too expensive for what we had, and we left wishing we had gone somewhere else instead.

We stumbled on this restaurant as we wandered Venice. As it was lunch, and they had a tasty looking set menu on offer we stopped. Free wi-fi meant we could research our next steps before and after our meal. Delicious and well-priced carafes of wine meant we could loiter until we were fully re-charged. The patio was the place to be, and the service was just right. The food was fresh and well-portioned and at the end I felt satisfied without feeling stuffed.

Found this place walking near the Arsenal and it was packed so we decide to stop. It took us about 15 mins to get a free table and the place looked quite cosy and had a nice ambience to it. Unfortunately this was the first place we stopped at in Venice where the service was totally uncoordinated and seemed a bit random. Seeing that I had yet to try Cicchetti in Venice, I decided to order it for starter. Cicchetti(also sometimes spelled«cichetti» or «cicheti») are small snacks or side dishes, typically served in traditional«bàcari»(cicchetti bars or osterie) in Venice, Italy. The taste was good with some of it and some items were pretty tasteless. Partway through my starter the main arrived and I had barely eaten half of my starter. This was a bit disorganized and so I put aside my platter and got stuck into the main. I must admit the fish was cooked to perfection and I loved it. Dessert was tiramisu and it was really nice as was my coffee. They did forget the bill and also the couple next to us waited ages to get their bill. A couple of times they tried to deliver someone else’s order to us and similarly deliver our order to another table. I would come back here but given the choices in town this place won’t be in the top of my list :-)
