We randomly found this place while searching for food. The presentation of the different food looked too good to pass up so we tried it out. We ordered the octopus in celery, lemon salad, shrimp with tuna tartar on a bun, and the mixed fried seafood. Everything tasted fresh! I definitely enjoyed everything I ate here. It lets me try different seafood items without feeling the fear that I feel when I want to order it in a restaurant. I like the whole environmental approach on disposing of trash and their approach on conserving the environment. Will come back if I’m back in Venice.

Located right next to the Rialto Market, you would definitely expect fresh seafood, and this place delivers! They have a nice sized selection of seafood tappas, all fresh and look extremely appetizing. We ended up ordering the octopus salad(very nice seasoning and the octopus meat was very tender and tasted very fresh), the shrimp sandwich, and all the selection of fried fish. All very tasty and fairy cheap. A great chance to try a selection of Venetian seafood! They also have beer, wine, and a selection of sodas to go along with your meal. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you are in the area.

«Let me microwave that for you.» That should tell you all you need to know about this place. I thought we would be getting a no-frills, local, fresh experience. In actuality, we got a soggy, warmed over, disappointment.

Fantastic. This was probably my favorite eating experience in Venice It looks no frills – in fact, my first impression was this was place looked like a sterile hospital cafeteria, BUT the service was kind and fast and the food was amazing. After strolling through the Rialto Fish Market we had fish on the brain. Lino Fritto is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the market, so you know that the fish is fresh. We were overwhelmed at the selection at Lino Fritto – you have sandwiches, soup, pasta, fried balls of goodness, etc., and all made with fresh-caught fish. But the employees were very patient with us as we asked them what everything was. We settled on a sliced tuna sandwich, octopus salad, fried cod ball, and shrimp and crab sauce(meant to be eaten as a sauce on a pasta but we opted to eat it like a soup). I know that good seafood should taste like the sea, and that older, non-quality fish taste… fishy. Well, this was definitely good seafood. The tuna sandwich was delicious – the tuna was meaty, almost had a turkey/ham saltiness to it, and paired well with the flaky croissant. The octopus was fresh, easy to chew – not rubbery at all – and the vinegar and brininess of the salad was very refreshing. The codball was crispy and not greasy at all. Last, the crab and shrimp sauce was great – delicious, sweet tomato with delicious and sweet crab and shrimp, and we were given bread to dip in the sauce. Very nice. The one thing that *slightly* marred the experience was that the shrimp were still in their shells. I realize this is a Venetian thing, to eat the shrimp, shells and all, but doing so made eating the sauce a little more difficult. We were still a little hungry after our meal, and I argued to go back to Lino Fritto and try some more items. Unfortunately, my vote was denied as the rest of the family wanted to try some other restaurants, but it wasn’t because they were unhappy with the meal – in fact, my fish-phobic kids were quite surprised at how delicious their fish dishes were at Lino Fritto – they just wanted to try other restaurants we’ve looked up. Several months later, though, I wish that I had a Lino Fritto in my backyard. If fish tastes this good everywhere, there’s no need to eat meat.

Found this in the Rialto Fish Market. Wonderful stop for a quick, excellent lunch. Fresh Tuna with ceci, garbanzo beans, mini tomatoes and lemon. Also have squid salad and smoked salmon coated with sesame seed on a stick-like ice cream.
