The Locanda Canal hotel has a great location – it’s a short walk to:
— the San Zacaria vaporetto stop
— piazza San Marcos
— ponte Rialto
— restaurants and shopping
Our room was fairly spacious but the bathroom and shower were both very compact. Some of the fixtures weren’t in great shape either – the room just felt a bit run down or neglected. It was also pretty noisy – though this may be the norm for Venice, since everyone’s in such close quarters. Our room was right on a narrow side-​street which echoed with people in the morning. We also happened to be located right off of the breakfast dining room too. Sleep would not have been possible without earplugs.
We don’t regret having stayed here and we seriously loved the location. The price was pretty reasonable too. It just didn’t «wow» us.
