This is an adorable little restaurant near the northern shore of Venice. It seems completely authentic. No frills in décor but the simple tables, settings and lighting create a real, old-fashioned charm. The menu is mostly fish. We shared a seafood pasta as a first course and it was plenty for 2. The mussels in particular were the best I’ve had. My husband got the frito misto and it was done very well, with the shrimp as the outstanding feature. I got sea bass with artichokes. It was very delicately fried and quite good. The desserts were great. Make your way over here if you want a lovely, warm, adorable restaurant experience.

I’ve known the owner for quite some time & this(relatively) new endeavor of Bruno’s is simply stated stellar. Let him guide you as to entrees; he’ll not steer you wrong & unlike many places in Venezia ordering al a carte won’t break the bank. I can’t wait to go back; hopefully later this year as I try to spend a couple weeks in Venezia as often as I can. If you have trouble finding the restaurant your phone can navigate you there once you are nearby i.e. Vaporetto stop Fondamente Nove just opposite San Michele(the cemetery island between Venice proper & Murano) is about a 5 minute walk away from the restaurant.

This restaurant is an amazing find in Venice! We ordered the codfish montecato for an appetizer, a traditional venetian dish. It was extremely well prepared and delicious. For dinner we had the gnocchi with scallops and«sea asparagus» and the seabass fillet with eggplant. Both were amazing but the seabass fillet was out of this world. The attention to every detail of this dish shows that they have a remarkable chef in the kitchen. The fish was pan fried and lightly crisped on the outside for a perfect texture. The light sauce and the eggplant combined to make this dish truly outstanding. We loved it so much we had to order a second one which was also prepared to perfection. The owner truly takes pride in his restaurant and talked with us a bit when the meal was over. He personally shops for the fish which is caught fresh and purchased from a local market nearby. At over 120 years old, it’s not surprising that this restaurant has been around for so long.

My husband and I found this charming Restaurant by chance! We were just walking one night, getting lost in Venice and hoping to find just the perfect place for a late night dinner and as we turned one corner, there it was! Beautifully lit at the end of an alleyway. It was a gorgeous warm peaceful night, so we chose to sit outside and the service and food could not have been better! This is not a tourist place from what we noticed, as we were surrounded by Italian locals. I had the Pasta Pomorodo and it was excellent! It’s a simply dish, but as they say, the best restaurants are usually judged by their most simple dishes, because it comes down to the freshness of the ingredients, the Chef’s preparation and presentation. The dish was very flavorful and the pasta was al dente! Service was excellent and very friendly. We felt welcomed and were happy to practice our Italian with the waiter. We shared a bottle of an amazing Italian white wine and in the warm summer night, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We look forward to returning back soon!!! Five Stars!!! Grazie mille!

The best meal I’ve had in Venice. We had gnocchi with scallops and spicy tomato-lemon sauce, along with barely grilled tuna on a bed of aubergines, red onions, and pine nuts. And a carafe of pino grigio to wash it down. Along with friendly service, a cozy outdoor setting, an English language menu(at the back of the folder), and reasonable prices. Beautiful…

Best restaurant we ate at in Venice. Not only was the food wonderful but the staff was excellent too. Our waiter/owner took the time to talk to us and even shared some history about the restaurant and others in the area. Do not skip this place if you’re in Venice, it’s off of the main road away from the tourist joints and does not disappoint.

A true neighborhood restaurant, a great find. Worth finding your way there. The food was superb, the fish fresh and prepared beautifully. Service by the owner was top notch. If my wife said«She died and went to heaven» after having the sea bass with artichokes rest assured you will enjoy your meal.

Really cute little restaurant. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but that’s part of its charm. Waitstaff was really friendly and accommodating. We had the seafood platter to share and two desserts. Really fresh and tasty. Not overbearing in oil or sauces. Outside seating is cozy on a warm evening, ambient w/candles here and there. I’d definitely recommend.
