This is a very beautiful place right on the Grand Canal. It’s lovely inside and out(with a nice courtyard to sit and eat, too). The bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in my whole Italy trip. I’m not the one to like very firm beds, but this was actually pleasantly cozy. The ceiling was even beautiful with a chandelier in the middle of the bedroom. The water bus stop was right at the hotel(Ca’ d’Oro), which was extremely convenient. There is a common living area upstairs with a balcony, which was absolutely perfect for the annual Regata! Some of my complaints: shower with a poor seal that made our bathroom floor wet, poor wifi signal, very high-up toilet, and unworkable thermostat(which the concierge had to adjust herself from a different area of the hotel). The employees were very friendly though. Even the lady serving breakfast filled up our water bottle for us before our excursion.

The good stuff: Hotel is classic: big chandeliers, lots of wood, modern bathroom, paintings everywhere. Yes, my bedroom with a large painting and two comfy beds had a view of the courtyard. and the maids did a good job. It is right on the Vaporetta stop. Right off the main drag, it’s a good location. The bad stuff: Italy has the best coffee and at a four star hotel, you expect more than the coffee machine that you get at some of the museums. Not very good coffee. The staff was o.k., not the warmest. My room had a very pungent smell. It was not toxic but it smelled like a sweet chemical. It was intense and seemed to be coming from the air cooler… almost like a strong furniture polish. One thing that I heard other people complain about was the poor wifi reception. There is wifi in the lobby that works o.k. The wifi in the room is so slow and unreliable that it’s not usable.

The Pesaro Palace is located just next to a Vaporetta stop which was very convenient. Walking, there is a major street right behind it. The rooms are large. The room maid service was quick(one morning while we were eating breakfast). The desk people were always helpful. The breakfast was great with a brew it yourself coffee machine. Price: up there with the rest of the 4 – 5 star hotels in Venice. The hotel next to it has a great outdoor seating area on the canal and its a great place to have a White Russian and watch the boats go by.
