Don’t be put off by the touristy interior, which is kitschy to say the least. The food is authentically Venetian. My risotto with frutti di mare and my husband’s mixed seafood pasta rivaled some of the best we’ve had all over the world. The service is friendly and very accommodating, especially with a hard of hearing, almost invalid mother-in-law who doesn’t understand how to order European style. Good calamari and a very good fried sardine starter led off our meal. A little out of the way, but thankfully away from the tourist hoards.

The food is good, not bad, not excellent but good enough. The restaurant has good airco(needed it with 34 C…) and a good WiFi connection. The menu of the day costs 18EUR(anno 2015) BUT outdoor they put in big capital letters NOCOPERTO(no cover charge) on it and in small writing they put –almost unreadable-‘servicio 12%’ which is more than the regular cover charge of 2EUR! Especially if you take some wine along… And their wine prices are rather high. Kind of misleading trick, what I can not really appreciate. Additional remark: I have doubts about the authenticity of the review of Margo L concerning this restaurant. Only 1 five star review with no shortcomings during 10 months of Unilocaling is fake for me. It should be removed.

This place is not too far from St. Mark’s Square but is tucked away so not too crowded or difficult to get a table. The decorations inside are beautiful, and it’s a nice friendly atmosphere. The seafood platter was a delicious appetizer, and everyone in my party loved their food. I’m a fan, and would definitely go back!
