This is the place for a truly traditional sushi dinner. I have done such high-end sushi dinner a few times and found Sushi Tsubaki one of the best ones (if not the best).
The place is tiny, seating maybe 10 people maximum at the sushi bar. Expect to be the only non-Japanese person in the entire restaurant. The place is really hard to find and my Japanese contact in Tokyo actually had to come find us on the street. I attached a picture with more detailed directions. Dinner + drinks (beer/sake) will easily set you back $ 200/pp.
PS — don’t expect anyone to speak English (or an English menu). Just sit down, use your body language, and let it happen.
