My friends and I stopped here while visiting the Tsukiji Fish Market. It’s a little tourist trappy, as evidenced by a lot of English writing and many foreigners in the place, but I think the freshness of the fish upgraded my recommendation from«just avoid altogether». The service was very poor, as our waiter frequently disappeared to a backroom where we later discovered he was just sitting. If you’re very uncomfortable ordering in Japanese, I think this is a good place for the average tourist. That said, we had much better sushi and other foods in the various stalls around the market.

Located at the outer market of Tsukiji fish market, this place has an English menu that you can pick the sushi you want. The staff dont speak much English, but I guess pointing is enough to get by. After eating at a few other sushi restaurants in the vicinity, I felt that Sushi Sen paled much in comparison. The fish just didnt taste as fresh as the ones in the other restaurants. Was slightly disappointed since I had high hopes! :(

I was near the Tsukiji fish market at 4am, so I thought I would try this 24 hour sushi restaurant. It’s very casual and I enjoyed my sushi. The sushi chef was nice and helpful. They took my live shrimp out of the fish tank and served it to me as it was still moving. Pretty cool. I wouldn’t make a trip to eat here but if you’re in the area and craving sushi in the middle of the night, it’s the place to go.

My friend and I stopped by this place after checking out the Tsukiji Fish Market. Initially, I didn’t know what to think because every customer was a foreigner, and more foreigners came in while we were eating. I felt that it was a bad sign that no one was Japanese(except for the sushi chefs), but the sushi was delicious! The sushi chefs don’t seem to speak much English, but they do have an English menu and you could just point to things if you can’t order in Japanese. I think the prices are very reasonable, as our bill was 4800yen for 16 pieces of sushi and a beer, even with some of the nigiri costing 400 and 500 yen each. The staff is friendly and apparently they’re open 24⁄7!

I came here with my mom and sister after we wanted to see the Tsukiji Fish Market, but it was closed due to ocean day(?) This was the only place around that was open at 3:13AM, so we ended up eating sushi for breakfast lol. I would like to live here forever… uni at 3AM? I’ll take it. :) Because it was so close to the fish market, we had really high expectations for what the fish was goign to taste like, but it ended up just being a little shy of the better sushi joints back home in Los Angeles. The only thing that was really mind-blowing was that the uni was reallyreally good. After mentioning that I liked uni, the sushi chef gave me a special uni dish — he basically just carved out the bottom of the sea urchin and cleaned it so I could eat it out of the shell. It was a pretty cool experience but I think it’s more of a novelty. All in all, I probably wouldn’t return if I ever came across this place again(chain restaurant!) but I definitely think I had a fun experience :)
