Pros: Awesome staff. Beautiful rooms. Delicious food in Terrace Restaurant buffet. Thank you Ms. S for your continued help even after we checked out.
«Cons»: Next time we need to spend our 8 days at Kobe Meriken Park Hotel rather than on a cruise! Give the staff a raise and Ms. S a bonus. They deserve it!
We had accommodations at five different hotels/​resorts as well as an 8-​day cruise around Japan during our Japan/​Hawaii trip. Our experience at the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel was beyond excellent. My husband and I were traveling with three elderly family members — one in a wheelchair. I had had numerous communications with the reservation staff and the concierge prior to our trip to make arrangements for those family members. I was impressed by their patience and their efforts to fulfill my requests. From my interactions with the reservation staff and the concierge, I was looking forward to our stay at the hotel. I was not disappointed. When we arrived at the hotel, the doorman, porters, and desk clerks were friendly and helpful. While my family rested, I walked around the hotel and took photos. The Maitre d’ and chef at the Terrace Restaurant Santa Monica Wind were friendly and welcoming. The food and service was so good that we had both of our meals at Santa Monica Wind during our one night stay. All of my family members wished that we had stayed more than one night at that hotel — and so did I.
If I could name the «highlight» and most impressive part of our experience with Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel, it would be the concierge Ms. Suematsu. Traveling with three elderly family members (86+ years and one in a wheelchair) with 14 pieces of luggage was a challenge for my husband and my husband. Ms. Suematsu solved that problem for us.

I was a web member of some magazine M targeting married women. I obtained a pair of party tickets hosted by M and went to the banquet room of Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel with a friend of mine. To tell the truth I have ever been introduced on the magazine M as a small article. The Christmas card I made with GelGems was chosen as one of the cute Christmas cards.
By the way the hotel located at the port is unique shaped. It is unlike a hotel. Its white streamlined body is like a gorgeous ship floating on the ocean. It is not skyscraper, but has a long base. We walked to the hotel from Motomachi station for 20 minutes or so. It was fun to stroll about fashionable Motomachi area.
It was a gorgeous party where a model of M or the wife of a professional baseball player came (she was so beautiful and slender), various kinds of cakes or drinks were provided (of course free, all of them were tasty) and lotteries were held. A participant with next number of mine got a luxurious prize. It was so pity! I have bad luck in a lottery. The party room was spacious and refined. We spent nice and elegant time on drinking, eating or chatting here.
We went back on the hotel free limousine bus to Shinkobe station. We wanted to get on the bus bound for Sannomiya station, but a long line formed in front of the bus stop. The bus bound for Shinkobe was not so crowded as the one for Sannomiya.
In addition a platform of Luminus Kobe 2 is located nearby. Won’t you enjoy cruising, too?
