We were SO happy to have discovered this place! It’s a local’s spot, we were lucky to have found it. The tapas set is absolutely delicious and a great price — 700Y for 3 plates. Oishi! Happy hour is from 6−7p — draft beers for 250Y. Atmosphere is relaxed and décor is funky. We will be back.

Great ambiance, food, and drinks! The bartender/chef is a cool dude who is interested in the day to day of the locals and travelers that frequent the joint. His helper is a totally cool chick who is super friendly to tourist and speaks English well in addition to other languages. Happy hour runs 18:00 — 19:00 with beer and chu-hi(shochu highballs) for ¥250. Prices are great otherwise and they have some neat liquor choices from around the world. You gotta get the daily tapas in addition to okonomiyaki or garlic clam noodles. We ordered the 3-tapas set(only ¥700!) which came with delicious smoked yellowtail, seasoned sardines/clupeid, and a beautiful potato omelette. My girlfriend and I are tourists and stumbled upon this place before they opened so we stuffed ourselves at a nearby curry restaurant. Seeing that the ambiance of the place was so cool with pebble flooring and Tibetan Buddhist flags we came back for a drink. My girlfriend who was«stuffed» miraculously found ample room to devour the tapas and entertained getting more. Somehow, one drink and a sampler of tapas resulted in 6 or 7 hours of drinking and chatting with good company. Needless to say, we’re going to go back for another round before leaving Kyoto.
