* Simple, clean, and reasonable breakfast spot * I heard that this traveler’s inn offered up a very reasonable decent quality breakfast in a clean convenient setting open to anyone including people not staying at the Inn. So I wandered on over in the morning to try it out. There were two choices on the menu — both priced at 950 yen. You get to choose from the Western or Japanese style breakfast. Looking at the food on the other tables I quickly opted for the Japanese style. Service was very efficient, and the tray was brought out pretty quickly. Here is a photo of it: Close-up photos:
The highlights for me included the onsen tamago, which was perfectly cooked with the whites being custardy and the yolk being firm but not overcooked. It was delicious. The grilled fish was also surprisingly well prepared — still very moist although it didn’t look it at first glance. The tamagoyaki was also not overly sweet, which is the way I prefer it. The various other items also were generally not overly salty, and added nice texture and flavours overall. Overall this was a very straightforward, well executed Japanese style breakfast at a very reasonable price in a clean bright airy spot. I would return if in the area for sure.
