One of my absolute favorite Kyoto experiences! Not only was the bike rental cheap and easy, perfect for exploring the area’s temples and streets, but the place doubles as a little indie record shop. The music they were playing over the speakers was great and so was their selection of CDs. I asked (in Japanese) for a recommendation, telling the clerk that I liked rock and girl groups, and I ended up walking out with an awesome CD by WAO!!!, a local Kyoto garage band.

500 Yen (+2000 deposit) for an all day bike rental in Kyoto! They have wifi, good service, and a prime location next to the river which, by the way, I highly recommend biking.
My friends and I transformed ourselves into a bike crew for the day and rode around town exploring temples and the streets of Kyoto.
