It’s been quite awhile since I’ve had some Chinese food that was in a restaurant, and I gotta say, I’m impressed how they have a lunch set meal that is both delicious, filling, and economical(1000yen). Everyone got a lunch set, and we got a Ma Po Tofu to share. The list below is the generic list of what’s included in the set, and I’ll write a bit about what was served today. ・前菜(apps– bite sized and reminiscent of traditional dishes. Ours today was some kind of steamed egg with tomato, cucumber with peanut sauce and pulled chicken, and soy sauce-y eggplant. Great variety :) ・スープ(corn portage) ・季節野菜と海鮮の炒め(seasonal veggies cooked with… shellfish? Yummy, and very traditional) ・揚げ物(fried things. Today’s was a mushroom spring roll in a funny oval shape) ・ご飯(rice) ・デザート(soft tofu in light syrup. Yum! Also very traditional) Set meal was great, I loved it. It was filling and balanced. However, what stood out today was the 麻婆豆腐. It’s mildly spicy, but manageable, and the spices that come with it separately really made it super awesome. It’s some kind of peppercorn/spice blend. At 800 yen, it’s more than enough for one person, and perfect for two to share. Would definitely come back and polish one off by myself ^^;; Speaking of party size– this is a relatively small restaurant so if you plan to come with a part of four or more, a reservation is probably a good idea.
