Perfect for vegetarians, an amazing selection of farm to table ingredients. The food is fresh and tasty. Another gem for Unilocalers in Kyoto.

Self serve buffet with lots of fresh veggies directly from the farm. It’s a nice quick meal, just 1 block off of the main street from Tokyu Hands. Most dishes are vegetarian. Loved all the green leafy micro greens to make your own salad, hot noodle soup and a variety of soups and stews.

If you want to keep you healthy, I want you to visit this place. In the morning, you can have healthy vegetable buffet for cheap !!! (Of course lunch and dinner would be also nice)

Another amazing deal in the heart of Kyoto city. Kamo is one of the best buffets out there for the health conscious looking for authentic Japanese food, or make that Kyoto food. All of the vegetables in the restaurant are sourced from Kyoto prefecture, and the dishes offer a wide range of Japanese flavors, from those that may be easier to stomach for more western palates such as curry, fried chicken, yakisoba and bread, to very traditional and healthy Japanese dishes. I’ve only eaten there at lunch, but at 880 yen, this is one of the best values in Kyoto, and a healthy one at that(as long as you don’t gorge yourself…). Favorite menu items: –Japanese curry: Throw some in a bowl with rice, and wander to the salad bar to top it with some steamed potatoes or onions if you think it’s a bit light on the veggies. –Pita bread: They’ve been serving serving these lately. Line with some mayo, a few pieces of chicken, and stuff em with fresh veggies from the salad bar. –Japanese vegetable dishes: Since these are all based on the seasons, they change by the month. I don’t honestly like all of them, but they are all fairly low in sodium and fat, and undoubtedly healthy. Not only a great place for anyone to grab lunch, but also a great way for tourists to fill themselves up before a long day’s walk or bike around the city.
