This is a nice Starbucks in a business area of Kyoto. I came for a cup of coffee and some Internet access, being a tourist, I thought Starbucks would be the place to go to get both. Unfortunately that was not the case.
The coffee was good and provided with a smile. The Internet, not so much. Basically, there is an open Starbucks network you can connect to but then nothing. No pop-ups, not redirects, nothing!
Rather than going on, oh, and I could, I’ll just say this to: Starbucks of Japan: offer free WiFi and get rid of the barriers. Provide a simple pop-up with an «Accept Terms» box. Stop making it so difficult for no reason.

Located near the Karasuma Oike subway station, this is a solid location, lots of good seating for single parties aka study, reading, writing, etc. The variety of seating (tables, bar, communal table) gives you a choice– but beware, it’s often crowded, and even much more so on rainy days.
Enjoy your beverage while people watching through their glass walls– equally great view as Sanjo Ohashi location, in my opinion.
