French inspired tapas in Tokyo. Like tapas joints the world over, you’re going to pay a premium for smallish servings of tasty food to share. That said, the food flavors here are well worth the price. Dinner started with some small buns that were just delightful. The apparently made-in-the-restaurant compound butter served with the bread was sweetened with honey. However, I’ve seen precious little dairy in Tokyo so it was a nice touch. Tasted 3 dishes: horse carpaccio, octopus and tomato salad, and their signature dish charcoal grilled Yoshiaki pork loin with bone. I’ve never been called to choose my individual pork cut from a list of available options, but now I have. It was well worth it. The carpaccio was tasty, but the dish was a bit overwhelmed by the onions. The octopus and tomatoes were tasty together. And finally the pork was divine. Served on a hot metal plate with a sauce reducing around it as it arrived at the table. Super tender. Super tasty.
