SHAMAIM is an Israel cuisine restaurant that goes beyond your expectations if you are new to this type of food. It’s a lot of vegetables, beans and potatoes, with which you basically make sandwiches. They offer the all-you-can-eat course at 2,100JPY and it’s just so much food that is high quality! I was pretty shocked how good Israel dishes could be and the taste felt very familiar, too. There are only a few places available in Tokyo where you get to eat Israel dishes, but SHAMAIM should rank first. My Jewish friend is absolutely a huge fan of this place and he was the one who took me here for the first time. The only downside is that Ekoda is not too close from central Tokyo(but not too bad — 20 minutes from Shinjuku). Other than that, this place is awesome, particularly so if you are a vegetarian. I’m not(am a gigantic meat eater), but still fully enjoy their meal!

Fooooooockkkk this place is GOOD! The food is simple, tasty, and the portion size is just right. Your taste-buds will love you and then slap da-f@ck-outta you for not coming here earlier lol The restaurant is only about a 2 – 3 minute walk from the station and is located on the second floor. If you’re planning on going, make a reservation. And yes, they do speak English. The only negative aspect of this restaurant is that they do allow people to smoke, so if you’re a smoker then it’s paradise but if you’re not, DEALWITHIT just this one time cuz this food fockken rocks!!!

Ermahgerd. I nearly killed myself by eating so much food. Israeli food or kosher food is quite hard to come by in Japan.(Not that I often crave for it) But once there is one, what are the odds that you come across with Israeli Buffet??? I didn’t come across that even in US! Please note that you can’t just walk in and get buffet. You need to make reservation for at least 5 people to get buffet. So make sure to assemble of your big eater crew. Format isn’t like typical buffet where you get up and pick up the food you want. They bring the food to you as in course menu. Starting out with 1. soup 2. Hummus/veggie/fried chicken/falafel 3. Kebab/Pilaf. Then you can request any of these items as much as you want. Buffet is 2400 yen per person. We had 2 pitchers and 2 bottle of wine and total came up to little less than 5000 yen each. What a bargain!
