Brandon Y suggested that I come here on my trip to Osaka. Chad is an awesome owner and person who is willing to sit with you during the evening, hanging out and talking. Drinks are decently priced (cheap if you’re coming from a big city like SF or NYC) and he makes them as strong or as strong as I’m used to. Cute outdoor area and it’s pretty awesome to sit on the deck and drink.
As Brandon Y suggested, cider — delicious, but also try some of the drinks that he has on the list. A little bit of home in a foreign country is always nice.

When I am missing that California feel and am in the Osaka/Namba area, I tend to chill at Bar LLB with friends. It’s a pretty spacious place and the atmosphere is great. Chad, the owner, is a chill dude and will welcome you in, introduce you to some of the regulars, and strike up conversation with you (in English, yay — though he also speaks Japanese). The last time I was there with a couple friends, we drank the cider on tap, which was delicious — highly recommended. The décor is very nostalgic as well — a bit beach themed with the California state flag hung up, it is a much more relaxing and comfortable feel for me than some of the other busier, darker bars in Osaka.
