Every year when me and my other half go to Japan, we always stay at the Nikko Hotel right in the heart of Osaka Japan, and when we do, we always pass this particular Japanese Restaurant called Mimiu every time we are going to catch the Subway on the ground level. Mimiu Japanese Restaurant is a Restaurant that is know for their Teishoku Dinners and also their Shabu Shabu selection which always looks so good because they have it on display like most restaurants do in high traffic area’s. Well we didn’t want to stray far from our Hotel and was craving something light but yet filling and this definitely caught our attention so we decided to eat here at Mimiu. The Restaurant itself is very clean and spacious and we had a party of three and they put us in a little private room which was perfect for the three of us and we all decided to have the Shabu Shabu set which came with Appetizer, Tempura, Shabu Shabu with Vegetables and Meat with Dessert for about 4,500 Yen which comes out to about 35 dollars U.S. All i can say is that it was worth every penny and then some because everything that came out was stellar in taste and presentation. LIke all Shabu Shabu that we eat eat in Japan comes with the Ponzu and Gomadare dipping sauces and both were fantastic. The vegetables are always beautifully presented and also cam with Japanese Mochi as well. As for the Meat, what can i say? The Meat in Japan is like eating butter. The meat literally melts in your mouth and gives you that orgasmic feeling when you eat something that so ridiculously good words can’t describe but the expression on your face sure can. What can i say about Japan that nobody already knows? They are perfect in almost everything that they do. The service here is remarkably on the spot and even when they know your’e not Japanese, they still put a smile on their face and aim to please. Mimiu Japanese Restaurant gets very busy during the Lunch hours when the suits and salary men are on Lunch Break and they also get very busy during dinner as well. Their Tempura and Soba Sets look so good as well the other items as well. As for the price, i would say it is very reasonable and not over the top expensive if you ask me. So if you are ever staying at the Nikko Hotel in Osaka or in the Shinsaibashi area, i highly recommend eating here. You won’t be disappointed.

Ok,this place was really disappointing to me since I had such high expectation. It was supposed to be Udonsuki and I ordered the most expensive set lunch and the taste is worse than regular Udon place. It was sour and salty.

This restaurant had started from the 1958th. One of the oldest restaurant in Osaka. They serves the so-called Udonsuki, a kind of Casserole, mainly deal with a udon noodle. The udonsuki was consisted from sea food, vegetables and other specialized food made from Osaka. Mimiu took the trademark registration of Udonsuki. Udonsuki became to be the classic food, but stay loving to many peoples. I took many guests to this restaurant including foreigners. Everybody enjoyed the udonsuki. If you want to try some Osaka food, I recommend you to this Udonsuki.
