U:Ponte Vecchio

This is a very very good restaurant. The food is delicious from the 2 salads and the foie gras appetizer to the Orecchiette pasta have been exemplary. I had to take away 1 star because the restaurant has no confidence and act like a country folk style place as exemplified by «no English menu» to not knowing what type of fish being served with the pasta! I had to tell him it is bonito (just a guess from reading the kanji characters).

I like this Italian restaurant chain for the reason that it is located in only Osaka. I have ever been to the head restaurant in Kitahama and the branch in Umeda before. This is my first visit to come another branch in this business area of Yodoyabashi.
I intended to dine out in a different restaurant, either another Italian restaurant with one star of M guide or a French stylish restaurant. I called another Italian restaurant many times, but the line was busy, and then I couldn’t get through. As for the French restaurant, no one answered the call.
Therefore I picked out this Italian restaurant with my bussiness acquaintance to show appreciation to her on daily favor. In such a case, I thought I had relationship called «En» in Japanese with this restaurant. When we reached here, there were customers in business suits. Among them a foreigner was. I felt comfortable as my bussiness acquaintance took a half day paid holiday and after lunch she had to hurry to her workplace. We were taken to the counter seats.
We ordered the 2500 yen or so course with hors d’oeuvres (choose one between two), pasta (choose one among three), main dish (fish or meat), dessert (ice cream), and coffee or tea. She ordered corn beaf salad as hors d’oeuvres, karasumi (fried mullet roe) and green vegetable pasta, and I a little spicy green soup and pork pasta. As for main she chose sea bream and I grilled meat. The plates served were large and the portion of dish was alike. All of the dishes were tasty. I ordered a glass of American white vine at 600 yen or so which stimulated my appetite.
This restaurant is recommendable also for business meeting or lunch with your colleagues. It provides lunch at least 1500 yen. Reasonable. In addition if you enter it after 1 for lunch, the content of dessert changes for better one. I regretted having come here before noon.
