So my friend and I spent weekend in the hood for our relaxing vacation. Being a foodie but a lazy one, I wanted to explore something new but not too far away. A place locals will go for lunch, simple, good value but delicious. After walking by couple choices, we went in here and both were very satisfied. There’s nothing fancy about the food but good honest home cooking style. I had fried chicken, not greasy, not oily and all the skin was removed. My friend had the vegetable bowl, and we both loved it. The portion doesn’t look big but it’s a lot tot fill you up easy.

I was going to meet the two young women working for this Japanese restaurant. I did want to meet them, because see the reviews of Sukunahikona Shrine or Onoe Furniture , please. They were very friendly and kind to show me to the shrine. Back to the main topic. After I passed through the cherry blossoms in the Mint(called«Zouheikyoku» in Japanese) with my husband, I called the restaurant to reserve two seats and entered it around 7 o’clock. It is a two-storied residential restaurant. We were shown to the counter seats on the first floor. It was lively probably as a banquet was held on the second floor. When a cute young female staff member showed us a menu, I found that she was the other who showed me the way. As I showed my appreciation to her again, she also remembered me and said to me, «The other woman is serving on the second floor and I call her soon». So we could make a reunion. I was very happy to have met them again. As for foods, they were very tasty! The day we visited was Saturday. Though it is business area and there is sparse on the street, the restaurant was popular and crowded with customers. Thursday and Friday is further on brisk business so that I may not make a reservation. This restaurant is famous for Motsunabe or offal of beef or pork with some vegetables and bean curds cooked in a soup stock, but my husband and I don’t have a taste for Motsunabe. So we found Karashimentaiko or walleye pollack roe salted and spiced with red pepper(referring to Weblio Japanese-English Dictionary) is another hot seller and we ordered other menu, such as fried chicken, potato salad, grilled bean curd, rice with hot Japanese green tea poured over it, all of them flavored with Karashimentaiko, gyoza or Chinese dumplings stuffed with seasoned and minced pork which are grilled on an iron pan, cubed pork stew, and ice creams for dessert. Table wares matched the dishes well. We enjoyed their tastes, flavors and appearance. As for drink, I chose citron juice, which is reasonable around 280 yen, sour sweet, so recommendable! When I was going out of a restroom, I met a group of foreigners, who probably come here from their curiosity to eat something rare. I was astonished that one of the female employees who became familiar with me spoke fluent English to wait on them. On the counter seat next to us sat a nice middle-aged man. He drank and ate something over a compact book and seemed to enjoy alone. Very cool! We paid 7000 yen including tax and service charges. I thought it reasonable! During lunch time you can eat a table d’hote meal at cheaper price. Service and meals are perfect! Please come over!
