After reading reviews on Unilocal & Time Out Tokyo, this roof top bar was certainly a place I needed to check out. Being a teacher on summer break, a Sunday seemed just as good as a Saturday as days have lost categorization for me. But… For Casita, Saturday’s and Sunday’s on the rooftop differ. I get it. But it is noteworthy as this place can really take a punch at your wallet. The atmosphere is great! Lights wrapping a patio and a nicely decorated champagne bar. Apparently on Sunday’s(and I would guess on weekdays) they don’t offer the wine/champagne garden, but there was still an option for free flowing champagne and you could add wine pairings to your course. There were 2 course options, and Casita was very accommodating for my husband’s seafood allergy. The food was excellently presented: my favorite was bread in flower pots. Dishes were delicious! And the wine pairing was superb. Our severs were great. However, we dropped 36500¥ for a party of 2. Fancy spot in Tokyo. Decide how you want to spend your money. Casita does not disappoint, but just know that you’ll drop some yen.

this is a review for the rooftop lounge only… I came here hoping to impress my out of town friends with a view and after researching from Time Out Tokyo, I decided to give Casita a shot. The service was exceptional however the rooftop lounge/bar was disappointing. No real view and the drinks are quite pricey with a minimum of ¥1000 per person. Sake was a minimum of ¥1000 for a small glass. Skip.

I went there on a double date after reading about it online. For the summer, they have a wine garden with free flowing red, white, and sparkling wine while also coming with a tapas buffet and main dish. Weekends get full pretty fast, so I would book early(when I booked it, the earliest available time was 9 pm). When we went outside to the rooftop, I was impressed by how beautiful the setup was. The lights glowing around the garden, combined with the view Aoyama gave the perfect atmosphere for a Saturday night of drinking. I could see why this place is so busy at night. The tapas buffet was no ordinary appetizer buffet(as it shouldn’t be, for the price we were paying). Sardines, smoked salmon, olives, and more lined the table as I filled my two plates(actually, maybe three, I think I went for more) with everything(I was also very hungry by 9 pm). This was followed by a plate of raw oysters, which were also very tasty. This led to the main dish, which I chose the steak. To be honest, I have had better, but still delicious. We definitely got our money’s worth with the sparkling wine. Towards the end of our time limit, though, they started to get a little stingy an fill our glasses less and less. But, that just meant they had to keep coming over more and more, which didn’t really make sense. Overall, I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice date spot or a place to have some drinks with friends. There is an inside that is less busy, but I could not even think of eating in there if I knew I was missing the wine garden.
