What’s not to like about diabetically sweet doughnuts? While staying at the Southern Tower, we had a craving for something sweet. Krispy Kreme answered that craving. I regret not trying the ice cream doughnut sandwich.

The only difference between Japanese Krispy Kreme and Americans Krispy Kreme is the décor. They have your typical donuts, nicely warmed and glazed. The taste is still the same, overly sweetened and has that similar waxy coat. I only went in because I was craving something sweet and I can never say no to donuts. Since it was Easter week, they made the donuts into little chickies. They were so cute and so instagram worthy. The staffs are very kind, like almost every staffs in Japan. They greet you with kindness and they were all very energetic(even though they were closing soon). Nothing was really special about this donu shop. I just love their little cute designs.

KRISPYKREMEDOUGHNUTSSHINJUKUSOUTHERNTERRACE The roommate had read about ice cream sandwiches being offered at Krispy Kremes in Japan. Since everyone went back to their hotels to take a nap, I decided to walk around Shinjuku with the roommate. We stopped by the Krispy Kreme in Shinjuku Southern Terrace on Wednesday, April 13th at 2:08pm. We got a Kool Krispy Sandwich: with ice kreme and gelato(¥420). It came with raspberry and vanilla gelato and frozen berries: strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. The ice cream was really cool and refreshing. I was afraid this was going to be overly sweet, but it wasn’t. The fruit and ice cream provided a nice contrast to the soft sweet doughnut. This location is rather nice. It’s a two story shop, so we took our sandwich upstairs to enjoy. There’s seating along the window with a nice view of the Shinjuku Southern Terrace. Good for people watching or just soaking up the atmosphere of Japan. I normally try not to visit chains avail back in the US when traveling, but this was a nice relaxing stop.

Krispy Kreme is from America, and it’s one of the few chains that’s actually EXCELLENT. I’m so happy it made it to Japan! BESTDONUTS. SUPERSOFT, SWEET, ANDBUTTERY. You only need to eat the Original Glaze. Everything else is just for novelty. Oishi!!! Don’t eat too much. They’re donuts. Follow me on Instagram & Twitter @GenkiGirlNot!

I remembered when it opened, I went to check it out. I’ve never heard of Krispy Kreme but since it’s a donut shop, it’s a must that I need to taste it. Unfortunately, the line was crazy, I gave up. I decided to give it a few months to settle it down. A few weeks or months later my friend and I decided to give it a try. We were given the original glazed donuts while waiting and I fell in love with it. I decided to get a fancy one, the Sakura filled donut, it tasted terrible to me. So whenever I pass by Shinjuku, I try to get a donut or two here and just sit around the area enjoying my piece of happiness:)

Had no idea Krispy Kreme was in Japan! Apparently this was the first store to open according to locals. Similar to the U.S. Locations except for the regional flavors: green tea, potato Mont Blanc, etc. These flavors were pretty good. Expect to pay double what you would stateside.

I saw that KK had some delicious looking donuts for the Halloween holiday… and I had to get my hands on some! I actually went twice… and the first time was to get their apple pie donut ice cream.thing. It’s a glazed donut topped with vanilla swirled ice cream with an apple pie glaze & chunks of apple. With a little heart shaped cookie. It was good, but not something I would order again. The second time was for the Halloween donuts! By the time we went, a lot of them were sold out already. :(((( So, I just ordered what they had left for the most part: Purple Potato Mont Blanc 230Y –Pretty good! Not overly sweet, and a satisfying flavor. Berry Jelly Stars 230Y –Bf’s.and he enjoyed it! Definitely very jelly. Lemon Cream Cheese 210Y –Bf’s.he liked this one as well. Green Tea Cake 190Y –Disappointed. :/It was so dry and bleck. I really needed milk to wash it down cause it would literally get stuck in my throat. I was looking forward to this one, too! D: WAHH. But all in all, I was pretty satisfied.

I like this Krispy Kreme location better than the Shibuya one. It’s such a hit in Japan! Don’t get me wrong, Krispy Kreme in the US is awesome too, but it’s like a special desert here. Sometimes, there will be quite the wait to get inside. If you’re lucky, they’ll give out a free original glazed donut while you wait in line. Even with a long line, they’re efficient at getting you in and out the door in typical Japanese fashion. .99 cents back home, but about double the price in Japan fyi. Last time I was there, it was almost 30 dollars a dozen!

This is a great place(and the main Krispy Kreme location in Tokyo I believe) to get your doughnut on! Japanese Krispy Kreme isn’t too different from the American version, although they do have some interesting specials depending on the time of year. Service is fast but prices are a bit higher than you would pay back home. The doughnuts also seemed smaller to be but I’m not sure… after eating one I could have definitely eaten another. They sure tasted good though! Hot and fresh =)

This was the first Krispy Kreme to open in Japan. I remember waiting in line for over half an hour just to try and buy these delicious fried sugary doughnuts. Honestly, I think no doughnut bought there tastes *as good* as the free fresh one they pass out in line… Now, there’s rarely a line and many neat seasonal options to choose from. It’s a nice treat to pick up for your coworkers/friends!
