Tsubame Grill Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square

Besides the food poisoning and hospitalization incident I got from the Tsubame back in 2006 at this location… things have greatly improved since! Located in a close proximity to Shinjuku sta., it is a convenient place to have lunch or dinner. Interior décor was nice and fancy. Highly recommended if you want a girls night, a quick meal, or even to take your special other. :)
I went with 2 of my girlfriends to catch up and have lunch, and all ordered the standard hamburger dish with a little bit of veggies, and a baked potato on the side. The «hamburger» isn’t really a hamburger that we know of, like in and out, bun and all, etc. It is sort of like the Salisbury steak, drenched with a special gravy seasoning. Meat and vegetables are stream cooked in a foil pouch, probably to retain moisture in the dishes. SUPER GOOD. Everything was seasoned to perfection, and my friends were mentioning how soft and tender the meat was.
I have to say though, that the poached tomato (I forget the exact menu item in Japanese!) was the best! I’m not sure how they are able to cook that thing and have the shape retained in a perfect little ball.
For 1200~1600 yen per person, it isn’t exactly your cheapest option, but you do get what you pay for. Highly recommended!

My family loves Tsubame Grill, and Tsubame Grill Shinjuku branch is my favorite branch in Tokyo.
We especially enjoy having lunch in a sunny day at Tsubame Grill Shinajukj spacious patio. There are around 15 tables at the patio, and my kids love there, it’s just like picnic in a nice garden. Not to mention Tsubame’s great food — whole-​tomato salad, Japanese hamburger steak grilled and steamed in foil, and well-​baked potatoes! And all the beef and vegetables are 100% Japanese and the restaurants specifies the origin shown on board every day. All the food is preservative free — safe, clean, and yummy!
The ambiance here is relaxing and elegant. Service perfect too. Lunch set includes soup, bread, and coffee as well. Love it!
