My stomach was messed up from trying too many exotic foods in Japan(eel hearts, blowfish, squilla, etc). Mix 15 miles of exploring the wards of Tokyo in the humidity and you’ve got an equation for exhaustion. I desperately needed something clean and healthy so I searched everywhere for alkaline food. All signs led to Shinjuku. I quickly scanned the menu for the healthiest looking smoothies and pointed to the two with the most vegetables. One had no fruits which, although healthy, tasted like cauliflower and hay. The other one must have had apple or grape because it was sweeter and more palatable. I have no doubt that I chose the harshest of options because their serving containers were the most full compared to the fruit smoothie containers. Overall I’d come back again. Maybe in an hour to cleanse my system.
