Great pair of glasses for a cheap price of $ 72USD. The whole process only took 30 minutes!

Is it strange that one of my favorite things in Japan was the glasses buying experience? 1) Try on frames. There are many frames out on display for you to look at and try on; no need to ask for assistance. 2) Bring your chosen frames to the counter and choose your lenses. The cheapest lenses are free, and go up in cost if you wish to choose thinner lenses. 3) Come back within 30 minutes to pick up your brand new glasses. Lenses are cut in house right after you select them. No calling to make appointments. No filling out of pages of paperwork. No insurance requirements. Seriously, in and out, just like that. I can have a new pair of glasses ready in less time than it takes to get a pizza delivered. In addition to the speedy delivery of the new glasses, they are amazingly cheap. Many frames were $ 50USD or less, and include lenses. I can have a new pair of glasses for cheaper than throwing a pizza party. But wait, how do they know your prescription? Their equipment can get that information from your current pair of glasses. They can also do a quick eye exam, which I hear is also free, but I don’t know that for sure. My vision is pretty bad, and the standard lenses would have been way too thick to fit in the frames I chose. They had three levels of upgrade available, with each high option offering thinner lenses. I went with the middle option, and adding that to my frames brought my grand total to about $ 90USD. $ 90USD and 30 minutes later, and I walked out with my favorite pair of glasses. This is easily as good as it gets in my nearly 20 years of wearing glasses. Bonus edit: I couldn’t leave this review without mentioning that their glasses are Asian fit! Which means I walked out with my first pair of plastic frames. My lack of nose bridge meant that all plastic frames I’ve tried on in the past either slide down my nose right away, or rest on my eyes/cheeks; the larger nose pads on their glasses prevent those problems. My only regret is not getting more than one pair of glasses.
