Mexican food in Japan? Why not! Found this fun little place in the Koenji area while walking around. Sit upstairs by the window to people watch while you sip your margaritas. The place feels pretty authentic with Spanish music pumping through the speakers. Food was super fresh and flavorful. Very generous with the guac too! I’m use to eating at quick, slap-it-together mexican joints so this is a nice change.

I feel manipulated. They force you to buy a drink with your meal, which is unreasonable anyways, but it doesn’t say it anywhere in English. And we didn’t find out until we had already sat down and ordered and we really wanted Mexican food =/. I must say not typical of the past month of experiencing accommodating Japanese establishments.

Suffice to say finding authentic Mexican food in Tokyo is impossible, this place is quite good. The menus variety was pleasantly surprising(hooray for consomé). Also, the fried avocado balls are to.die.for.

Another excellent choice in the general area is «2Papas» in Kichijoji. Order their«Mexican» Steak Sandwich with a pint. You won’t be dissapointed.
