One of my Japanese friends took me to Kaikyo, an izakaya restaurant in Asakusa, for dessert and tea. For tea, we had many choices such as chamomile, apricot flavored black tea, lemongrass, earl grey, assam. For dessert, we had five choices — apple pie, green tea ice cream sundae, fruit sherbet, banana split, and coffee ice cream. We picked the green tea ice cream sundae and banana split. The Green Tea Ice Cream Sundae consisted of a scoop of green tea ice cream, whipped cream, two peanut mochi, unflavored gel, solid sugary chestnut, red bean, and maple syrup on the side. The Banana Split consisted of vanilla ice cream, sliced banana, whipped cream, almonds, orange sauce, and chocolate sauce. They were both quite delicious!
