Yokohama-bashi Shopping Arcade

This is the largest or among the largest Showa era shopping arcades in Yokohama. While it’s well maintained and a little too clean/​nice to have the same old-​time feel as the arcade in Rokkakubashi, it’s still full of small shops selling fish, vegetables, meats, sweets, etc., as well as restaurants and cafes that have clearly been around for decades. Like the neighborhood behind Isezaki Mall, this area has several Korean shops and restaurants (most unfortunately very expensive for some reason).
It’s a bit of a hike from the rest of the tourist spots in Yokohama (probably 20 min. from Osanbashi – on the same street, heading perpendicularly away from the port), but it would be a cheap taxi ride. So if you’re looking for something a bit off the beaten track – or live in the area and want a cheaper alternative to the local supermarket, it’s worth checking out.
