Terrible company. Spoke with them four times in a week and was lied to repeatedly, ended up rushing for a flight from downtown Vancouver with Harbour Air after they cancelled last minute(I was already at the airport in Abbotsford). Avoid under all circumstances; yes, the ferry is slower but it does at least get to where its going. One very important thing to note — the ‘pilots’ are only qualified to fly under VFR(Visual Flight Rules). That’s effectively like your taxi turning up with a Learners Permit. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID…

Not very clear in the online booking system — beware if late booking as you will risk losing your money if the flight does not go due to weather etc. Read all the fine print because it is a very unclear system regarding calling 12−24h ahead of time, checking in time etc — not like any airline I have ever flown with… Never did end up flying with them since our flight was cancelled — ended up on the ferry instead:(. Costed us two flights for nothing in the end — they have since given us a flight credit but our need is over now so will be for nothing. Their responses to my concerns were mixed, sometimes not getting back to me or saying someone would call me then never getting a call — but in the end it was simply a policy that they will not refund the cost regardless of the scenario. They may well be a good airline to fly with if you are planning a long time out but seems like a lot of work and the time savings by flying is most convenient in a last minute scenario when you need to get to the Island now — not wait for the ferry or book days in advance, calling ahead etc.

You risk ruining your vacation plans and compromise your financials if you decide to do business with Island Express Air. I purchased 2 tickets for me and my wife, and proceeded to book activities and accommodations. This is after«Gerry» agreed that the trip is definitely taking place, depending of course on weather. Warning signs: seats won‘t proceed if flight is full(similar to «standby fares» except this isn‘t written anywhere on Groupon or their site), my email including requested times were not responded to, I had to call to confirm the flight within 24 hours, I had to provide my financials and not the Groupon voucher. Long story short: I called«Gerry» who decided to not fly the plane because he didn‘t feel like it 12 hours before our trip. Weather conditions are excellent and all seats are available on the flight. Would you risk your vacation plans on this«Gerry» who doesn‘t have any business ethics?
