I ordered 5 items: zucchini tempura, two cones, and two orders of sashimi. The only thing I was disappointed with was the sockeye salmon sashimi. I opted to pay more for sockeye over the Atlantic for obvious reasons. The salmon pieces were very small and could have been trimmed of their fat better. Everything else I tried was very tasty and did not disappoint! I would go back to Sushiwa.

This is one of the best Sushi places I’ve been to. The staff is friendly and nice. Clean place and always fresh food. Paul can make you any roll you want. My favorite are lemon prawn, cream cheese, and abdul’s specials(old, new)

The staff here are very friendly. I have been in here for 4 times, they often provide special sushi for me to try. The food is very delicious. I always have the lunch special, the quantity of the food is filling and the prize is very reasonable. I would have given a 5-star again, but I don’t think it has the best salmon sashimi in town. However, everything else is great!

Always friendly. Always fresh high quality food. The menu is amazing and has many single portioned options so u don’t have to order 9 pieces of sashimi if u want 1 and same with tempura. And their variety of tempura beats any sushi place I’ve ever been to. Sometimes u get a complimentary flamed sugar melted banana slice, OMG soooo tasty!

Excelent all around. Portion sizes and quality were up to snuff and they seem to have talented people behind the counter. Sashimi was fresh and wonderful. Tempura was hot and crispy. The red dragon roll was spicy and very flavorful… and a larger portion then I expected. Craving quality sushi? This should be your first choice in Abbotsford.

The best Sushi in Town. I really recommend to try this restaurant. I order the Special order of Deep fried California, Spicy Salmon, Alaska roll, and Rainbow rolls.

I love chopped scallop rolls, but not from this place. The chopped scallop roll was just a bland cucumber roll with hard undercooked rice. The scallop on top wasn’t chopped and was rotten. I spat out this horrible roll and I will never be back. There are many other good Japanese restaurants to go to in the Lower Mainland.

I’ve been to a lot of sushi places in my day, and this is top 3 for sure. Especially for the Abbotsford area, great food, really nice chef, talking to his costumes letting them know what’s good, and the banana with the caramelized sugar was a nice touch.

The quality of the fish was high, but I was astounded at the tiny amount of rice provided in the sake and tuna rice bowl — it was about a one-cup serving, wadded into a ball shape and placed next to the fish on a platter(see photo). For the $ 14 price tag, they can afford to give you another scoop(or two!) of rice. I reserve ordering donburi for those days when I’m really hungry, as typically you get a generous serving of rice topped with some quality sashimi. After eating Sushiwa’s version of don, I’m still hungry!

Located in a strip mall between a pizza place and a tanning salon is not the first place I’d expect top-shelf sushi, but Sushiwa is not your typical sushi joint. Abbotsford has a number of sushi restaurants, ranging from mediocre to very good, but this is the very best in town. Run by a very friendly family, the service is excellent. Always a friendly smile and quick table service. Of course, with under 10 tables, it would be hard to have bad table service. The food is delicious. The ingredients are the freshest around, and everything is prepared to the highest standards. The in-house specialties are innovative and unique, particularly the Sushiwa, a barbequed eel and cheese topped potato pancake reminiscent of Japanese nachos. That dish alone is worth the trip. The teriyaki is also one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The prices are very reasonable and when you factor in the quality of the food, I consider Sushiwa the best value in town.
