Fast Food Asian. And Indian! Friendly staff and one of the better tasting Wok Box food experiences we have had. Clean store, ample seating, large space. I had the Dan Dan Noodles and it supposed to be the spiciest — I guess by Western standards it may be but I had to add sriracha sauce. I got it with ribbon noodles and shrimp and it was good! He got the Kung Pao with chow mein noodles and he liked it! Still, with no drinks ordered, $ 23 total. Pricey but would return when we just did not have the time for a real sit down meal at a restaurant.

I wanted to love this place I really did. The assortment of items on their menu had my mouth watering as I read over the menu online. I’d heard chatterings about Wok Box and when I finally looked it up I noted locations only in the South or Airdrie(I completely somehow missed the Kincora location in the North). Hubs was out of town one night for a boys night away. I didn’t want to cook so I took the kids out to eat. Without too much arm twisting or wrestling, I talked them into trying out Wok Box in Airdrie as it’s really not that far of a drive once you hop on the Deerfoot. We must have arrived pre-dinner rush as we were the only ones in the place for the first 10 minutes or so. We decided on 4 dishes total to share, kung pao chicken with chow mein noodles, chicken pad thai with ribbon noodles and 2 kids dishes… jungle chow mein noodles with veggies and breaded crispy chicken on rice. I asked how big the non kid dishes were and I was told the size of the large take out box. Seemed fine at the time and leftovers would be welcomed. The portions came up at the pick up area and 2 of them were larger than life. We ended up with a ton of food… so no complaints there. Unfortunately it became quite obvious the chicken had been precooked and been sitting for awhile since even tossed in with the kung pao & pad thai dishes it was dry and lacked seasoning & flavour. The chow mein noodles had also been precooked and did not taste like any chow mein noodle I’ve ever had before. The flavours of these 2 dishes were just OK. The kids jungle chow mein noodles were supposed to come with veggies but we only found a few veggies(cut up bok choy or celery) on the bottom of the bowl. The rice was not fluffy but sticky as though it was not cooked properly. The breaded crispy chicken was the best tasting of the meal. My daughter asked for a order of Naan bread so we also got some. Sadly it was a very small portion compared to the cost. I let the kids enjoy it and did not get to taste it since there really wasn’t enough for 3 of us. The prices were fair overall, the place very clean and the employees friendly. I still want to love this place and may give a different location another go in the future.

UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT Now I realize that people have had bad experiences here in the past. I am actually one of those people. I had vowed never to return, and then I heard it was under new management and had re-opened. So I just had to check it out. Here is my experience. I walked in to not be greeted by the usual stale smell of dirty mop water. That alone was surprising. I was then very promptly and enthusiastically greeted by the staff cooking behind the counter. Just from this my mind was open to the possibility that Wok Box had changed for the better. I ordered the Ginger beef, and some dumplings. Both were delicious. No complaints this time around about food quality. The new manager must have kicked some sense into his/her staff. TWOTHUMBSWAYUP!!!(NOW…)

The food is mediocre. I’ve been to a bunch of Wok Box’s and I’m never disappointed with the atmosphere but always with the price. This place is so expensive for what you get!

I give restaurants a good 2 – 3 visits before I scratch them off my list. To be fair, you know. But this wok box has disappointed me beyond repair. The first time I went there, my food came out ice cold. And bland! Don’t get me started about the complete lack of depth of flavor! Ugh! So, to give them the benefit of the doubt I went back again a few weeks later. My food came out nice and hot, but still flavorless. Needless to say, I won’t be stepping foot into a Wok Box ever again. There is far better ‘Asian Fusion’ food out there!
