Town of Ajax

I think my children are turning into little environmental activists. They have a passion for the environment like Kanye has a passion for ruining award show acceptance speeches.
The Town of Ajax puts on Environmental week activites every year and we make it a family tradition to plant trees and pick up trash. They also have a compost give away which is a hit.
The tree planting was held across from MacLean community center off Westney Rd. in by Miller’s Creek. This year was a good turn out as it ran from 9 – 1 with plenty of volunteers. We got to plant a variety of trees. The town provides the trees, gloves, water, mulch and a spacious area to plant. The volunteers from the city give everyone a brief tutorial on the proper way to plant a tree and then you are off to the races. An hour later and by that time the kids were more interested in digging for worms and snails so we high-​tailed it out fo there to get some treats at Timmy’s.
Well supported and will plant again next year.
