I made an over night trip from California, and having never been to Canada before, I thought I would cross the border, 12 miles from my hotel and check out this pub. As I have always heard we had open borders with Canada, I expected more of a friendly hello, a passport check, and a quick trip to the pub and back without any problems, so I could have that short experience. To my dismay, this assumption was VERY wrong. There was nothing quick about it. And the border guards were the most unfriendly I’ve experienced through out my world travels. If this sounds like a good idea to you, when you are near the border, be advised it may not be quite as simple as you expect. The 12 mile trip took me over an hour and a half and I only spent 30 minutes at the pub. I had to get out of my car, wait for a background check, and every question that I answered was heavily scrutinized. They made me feel like a criminal, even though I had done nothing wrong. As far as the pub, it is only about 5 miles across the border. This was a very unique place and I was very glad I made the trip. The pub has an old English tavern theme with a fireplace and good food and beer. The waitress was way more than friendly, which was a stark contrast from the boarder guards.

I actually really like this place. The atmosphere is great and the food is awesome, my one complaint would be that the staff isn’t that great. I’ve gotten some really unfriendly waitresses that made me feel like we were a burden.

I started coming to this bar earlier this year, they have really good food. They have a restaurant side as well so you can bring the kids to enjoy the good food! Good breakfast as well. Weekends at night are really busy and they serve food late which is awesome. Only bad experience was somebody hit and run my truck outside in the parking lot one time(obviously a drunk not the businesses fault).

i don’t come here much anymore, but for awhile there when I lived in aldergrove, this was the only(good) bar in town. Friendly, and clean– everything the alder isn’t.

Great pub atmosphere. Good choice draft beers. Wait staff excellent. Except for«joy» Rib bits awesome, bangers and mash yum yum. Fish and chips beer batter scrumptious. Love this place on my day off if work. Relaxing… Pretty garden out back for smokers.

Go here if you want poor service and being talked down to. They kept on billing us throughout the night instead at the end which was annoying and confusing. I told our waitress that we didn’t order the shots that were on the bill. She then gave me attitude and was being a snarky b****, she could have handled that situation better. Poor service, and this isn’t the first time.

A tongue in cheek pub(I hope) fun and good. Sports coverage is good, character animals and people statues abound, tried the appy sampler, good for pub food, a nice place to pop by with some friends for a pint and to watch the big screen tvs
