Hurst Bakery

We’ve ordered from Hurst on numerous occasions. When my cousin got married, I ended up taking her place and going in for the consultation. They told me what they were confident doing and what they would run into trouble with (which seemed to be very little). We have since gone back for both my nieces baptism cakes, a first birthday cake and anniversary cake. The cakes are always so moist and decorated for beautifully.
What has me returning frequently are their little treats. We love their shortbread cookies with the sprinkles. However, every time I enter I want to try everything. They have pull apart loaves, sandwich bread, cakes, mini cake loafs, tarts, bars, cookies, macarons, etc etc etc! They sky is the limit here.
I write this review now, because last week after visiting my mom the day of her surgery, her only food request was to pick up 6 shortbread cookies. I find that’s a true testament to how awesome this place is.
They also have tons of nick-​knacks that are quite charming. This place may not be the most outstanding I’ve ever had, but they are consistently wonderful! They are reasonably priced, and always serve up a reliable, delicious product. I would recommend this place to any and everyone.

My wife loves Blueberry cheesecake soooooo much.
Bake goods are tasty there and the price is very competitive.

Great bakery with lots of different products. Staff is super friendly and more than willing to accomodate special orders. I go there for treats for myself often.

Best buns in town! Seriously, they are unlike any other type of hamburger buns you can buy. I can often be found enjoying one for a midnight snack… just on it’s own. Don’t judge until you’ve tried them!
The Monkey Bread is a must try, it’s chocolate chip banana bread. The gingerbread is legendary and the home décor and party accents they sell are adorable, pinterest worthy and original.

Really good local bakery. So far, nothing i’ve tried has disappointed (though i’ve only ever mainly ordered on the savoury side).
What i can attest to is the breads are great — the foccia and garlic cheese twists are an easy and great addition to any meal.
The one sweet item i have ordered from here is the flan, and it was light and airy and fresh.
Overall, i’m impressed at the ‘clean’ baking style this bakery has.

i always recommend this pride of the town bakery to friends from outside of town, if i dont give one of their cakes as gifts. the while choc mousse is the latest craze of our friendsbut all their cakes are delicious!
i have tried almost all their cakes over the years but it is only now i decided to write about them and their yummy treats. i would talk about them as we go along.
we just had their choco mousse recently and you would think it is too cholatey and you would think youèd have too much. i was wrong, it is still yummy.
i am also a magnet for their crème caramel having grew up with leche flan (caramel flan) as my childhood fave. i am reminded of the time i eat it with daddy-​yo who is now savouring in heaven. the consistency is just right, not too creamy or egg-​y or too light.
i also like how they wrap their cakes. simple yet elegant. their ever changing deco which are all on sale is something to look forward to every change of season. i love the shabby chic, country feel it exudes.
a mixture of carusos (a local florist in the area as well), well this deserves another accolade another time.
their staff are ever so friendly and knowledgeable of their wares.
they have other pastries and breads too. dont forget their banana cake.

Tons of selection in here. Decided to get myself some macaroons though… chocolate ones… mmmmm, nice little crunch with a sweet gooey centre. Pretty nice find reccomended by a co-​worker. I say find a good cup of coffee, then hit this place up for a sweet of some kind for a one-​two punch of goodness!

I love getting baked goods here. The cakes taste like they are made fresh with natural ingredients. I love their Black Forest cake. It is beautifully decorated and not overly sweet.
I bought my husband some scones as well which he really enjoyed.

I don’t know why no one gave this place 5 stars I came in and got a whiff of heaven it smells amazing like freshly baked bread and baked goods. I got the apple pie which I have yet to try but looks very delicious and the banana bread muffin which I wanted to take a picture of buy it went down too soon lol but it is absolutely amazing I am willing to come here again love it!!!

Hurst Bakery is such a cute country style bakery. The deco is simple and rustic but just so comforting!
Hurst Bakery has bread loaves, buns and of course SWEET! Brownies ($ 1.25) and Nanaimo Bars ($ 1.50) both were rich and smooth, great match for my morning coffee…
Staff are just so nice and friendly, just like a small town bakery should be!

Great bakery ! we ordered our daughter’s birthday cake here and it was fabulous. Great customer service, very polite and very helpful. We had a cake design in mind from the internet, and they were created it perfectly. Also beautiful cup cakes and bread as well.
