A little disappointing. The cone was not the typical waffle cone, it was the cheaper, white waffle type and it was stale. Ice cream was tasty but it also seemed like the staff is taught to make each scoop a certain, small size. Not like normal ice cream places where the scoops are scooped as large as possible. I prefer the smaller scoop but their actions say cheap to me. With so many ice cream places in town I would definitely not go back.

Couldn’t believe how much I laughed at all their cow puns! That was solely worth the visit even if you don’t like ice cream. But, if you do like ice cream, GO! It’s quite yummy, have a lot of flavors, and you can’t beat walking around the streets of Banff with a cone of ice cream in hand.

This was the best ice cream I’ve had in a long time. I had a chocolate peanut butter flavor in a chocolate dipped cone… yum!

Stopped by on our trip to Banff. Ordered their most popular«wowie cowie» flavor. A bit sweet for me personally, but my sister loved it. Also, a cute shop selling cow-related items on the side!

What a fantastic place to get dessert! Lots of different choices; ice cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet available. Fancy chocolate dipped waffle cones and plain waffle cones are available. I tried the Blueberry ice cream and it was really good. Real wild blueberries and a very smooth ice cream. You don’t need much, it is very rich. Located right in the main drag of Banff, parking is located In a lot behind the hotel located next door.

Yummy, yummy ice cream! They’ve got tons of flavours to choose from, ranging from the plain to the wild. Don’t hesitate to sample a few out! I got the birthday cake flavour and my inner child was oh so happy due to the blue streaks and sprinkles. Blue ice cream just screams childhood to me! The shop attached to the store is full of cute and funny items, each with a cow incorporated into it. The puns are hilarious, and well worth a browse while you’re here. My favourite had to be «Dairy-aire» printed onto the poop flap of a onesie. Stop in to eat some great ice cream, and to get a good laugh!

Lined up for Canada’s famous ice cream. Got a double scoop of blueberry and cookies and cream. Loved it to death. Wish I ordered more scoops.

Good stuff! I’ve had pei strawberry and brownie explosion on a regular cone. The Pei strawberry — Not too sweet, good flavor, Just right. The Brownie Explosion — not so memorable but good while it lasted. It’s solidly good even at 0 degree outside. Not-so-good: asking an extra cup will cost you 50 cents. That’s a pretty Cheap move. Comon! Assortment of parody t-shirts featuring cows. Quite entertaining. 4 stars as I’d surely come back for a scoop of ice cream on a regular waffle cone!

Meh. I’m a sucker for cookies and cream, so was exciting for a good ice cream fix to recover from a poor bowl of ramen. Was underwhelmed by their ice cream and handmade cones. And the ice cream fell flat too. At least the cow stuffed animals are soft and adorable. Almost grabbed one for my niece.

Cows has been advertised by a magazine /travel agency as one of the best ice cream shops in the world, so of course I had to check it out! I came during an off hour, but during peak times the line will easily spread out onto the sidewalk. Regardless of its anointed title, I disregarded«best ice cream» because placing the highest expectations on an ice cream will undoubtedly leave anyone disappointed. I ordered a single scoop cow themed ice cream of some kind, and it was delicious! The ice cream parlor is connected to the cow shop, which I have to say is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. There are cultural and social memes plastered with cows, t shirts, and a really cute stuff animal that I had to bring back home :) The experience is fantastic, and the ice cream is equally special.

After standing in line forever, I was rewarded with a double scoop that in most other stores would have barely counted a single scoop. The ice cream was undeniably tasty, but there wasn’t much of it to show for the lines. Maybe people don’t know how to portion for cups instead of cones?

I’ve been to Cow’s in Whistler and when I learned that there’s a Cow’s in Banff, I couldn’t miss a chance to eat ice cream on a cold, rainy day. There was a long line to the counter and knowing how good their ice creams are, that didn’t surprise me one bit. After sampling three flavors, we got pecans with toffee and another one(don’t remember the name) with hot fudge. Sooooo delicious! Relished every bite of the goodness!!!

Great little ice cream shop on Banff Avenue. The place itself has a banner that says Canada’s Ice Cream, so you can’t miss it. Originally from Prince Edward Island, the place is apparently one of the best places in the world to get ice cream? On the front of the store, you’ll find a list that says just that, along with other ice cream parlors in the world. Their most famous flavor is apparently the PEI Strawberry that is made in house at the store. We obviously had to give that a try along with the cookies n cream, my go-to ice cream flavor. The PEI Strawberry was soft, creamy, and had some nice strawberry pieces within. The cookies n cream was mainly vanilla ice cream, but they had huge chunks of Oreo so can’t complain either. I can see why Cows is good ice cream, but best in the world? I’m no ice cream connoisseur, so I have no say, but it is damn good ice cream. They have a big enough fan base as well for them to be able to sell memorabilia and souvenirs, all related to the store. Wonderful dessert option on famous Banff Avenue.

Cows is originally an ice cream parlor who first opened in Prince Edward Island, so I was delightfully surprised to stumble upon this franchise location in Banff, so far west! As usual, this friendly ice cream shop offers a wide array of flavors, all more unique than the others. Selection includes regular ice creams, but also sorbets. Be on the lookout for seasonal flavours – they often included fresh fruits! The strength of this brand is that all dairy products aren’t cut with tons of marshmallows or cornstarch, so ice creams taste like milk and have the perfect soft texture expected. Even though we always come(or scream) for ice cream at Cows, young and less young are always drawn to the memorabilia sold at the store. Varied cow-themed merch is available: from T-shirts to fridge magnets to plushies. Bored in the lineup? Look up to the wall full of magnet with cow-themed puns, like«May the heifer be ever in your favor» and the like. Consistent ice cream quality from a Canadian brand – don’t feel guilty to support a small-town company like this one!

Great little store that sells ice cream and souvenirs. They had discount on t shirts from adult to toddler. The shirts had funny references like«Moozilla», Moo Dynasty” and others. Also have cow plush toys. I had the mooey gooey, which was very gooey alright and sweet. The caramel was very gooey!

I absolutely LOVE Cows! This is the 3rd Cows location that I’ve been to in Canada and it never ceases to disappoint. I really like their PEI Cowberry and the Wowie Cowie but all the other flavors aren’t bad either. You can taste the flavors before ordering but be prepared to feel the pressure from the customers behind you and sometimes the shorthanded staff behind the counter. My recommendation: One scoop is $ 4.25 and two scoops is $ 5.25. For a dollar more, get the two scoops!

Cows is a Canadian ice cream shop. There are ten locations spread throughout Canada. I was curious to try the ice cream here as I had never heard of it before. The cow logo lured me in and I really wasn’t expecting much. There was so much cow décor, this place just screams cows. Right next to the ice cream they sell a variety of cow t-shirts, mostly parodies of movies, games, websites, and lifestyles. For example, Moovengers, Moogle, Moonions, yeah they replace the names with Moo. The flavors were limited probably around 10 – 15. I don’t remember what flavors they had just remembered the one that I chose. I had Oreo Cookie ice cream and I normally don’t like saying best I ever had, but seriously it was the best. The oreo cookies had good texture, it wasn’t chalky. Good oreo cookie flavor. The flavor of the sweet cream part was just fantastic. It wasn’t overly sweet but super smooth and I devoured the whole thing. It wasn’t until after I ate the ice cream that I saw a sign saying that Cows was voted Canada’s Best Ice Cream. After having their ice cream, I do believe it. We went back here for another day because I wanted a cow t-shirt. I ended up getting a Moonions one. I couldn’t resist! It happened to snow heavily the second time I went there so it was no surprise that the ice cream part of the shop was closed for that day. The service was good. The employees at the shirt area and the ice cream area were pretty friendly! Overall, a great ice cream shop with some funny cow shirts. Will be back here when I’m in Banff!

I was staying in Canmore for a weekend with my husband when we drove by Banff on the way to Sulphur Mountain for a hike. While we driving through the town I saw the Cows sign and I knew I had to check it out. Growing up in Vancouver, my parents would take my sister and I to the former downtown location on Robson street when we were kids. That store has been gone for ages, and I haven’t visited the Whistler location, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to go inside and get a cone for old times’ sake(after our hike of course. it was well earned!). As soon as I walked in the store the wonderfully sweet and familiar smell of waffle cones filled my nose. It brought back so many memories! I picked out the mocha almond fudge flavour on a plain waffle cone and it was delicious. It was neat checking out all the latest pop culture parodies(Game of Cones, The Milking Dead) and I was even able to spot the ballerina cow print I had when I was a kid. This store brought back a lot of great memories and was one of the highlights of my weekend trip. I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in Banff.
