A+++ Definitely a Great Spot if you want Authentic Thai food! I had the green curry with coconut rice! Also recommend the pad Thai and the fresh spring rolls! Omg so good! Makes me feel like I went back to Thailand when I’m here. Very friendly staff that makes you feel at home :) I truly enjoyed my stay in banff after this place. We were here 3 times in our stay!

I love how the place is called Pad Thai, yet they serve such shitty, bland, unexciting Pad Thai.(They didn’t even serve it with a slice of lime/lemon for added acidity, no spice, no kick, lame tasting, etc…) Sorry, just being really honest. I don’t even need to explain any more than that. For anyone else that says that this place is great, lol… To each their own, I guess. Haha, but deep down inside me, I think they just have never tried real Thai food. Anyway, sorry Pad Thai Restaurant.

Mediocre at best. I got the Pad Thai, which you would think would be stellar given that its the restaurant’s namesake, but it was bland and relatively tasteless. The prices weren’t too bad(especially for Banff), however I would rather pay a little more and get a better meal.

I think this is a great Thai restaurant for Banf. If this was in a bigger city, I would probably take away a star but considering the high price and low variety of the city, I think this is a wonderful alternative. The food is thai/asian fusion. There are definitely your favorites like pad se ew, but there also a couple of other dishes that might be hold overs from when the restaurant was a different style of asian food. Al-in-all though, the price was excellent(dinner for two about $ 20), and the ingredients were fresh. Everything was well made and although I wasn’t overwhelmed with flavor I enjoyed my meal and I enjoyed my left overs. We stopped by about a month ago, so I can’t remember exactly what I ordered(which probably says something) but I did remember leaving satisfied. We did order the purple dumplings by the way… altogether unremarkable and just a novelty.

Can’t recommend it. I ordered the chicken with cashew nuts. I was so disappointed. There was hardly any chicken or cashews in it. The dish was more like a vegetable stir fry with a splash of chicken and cashew nuts. And, it was bland. This is a very common dish in Thai restaurants which I order frequently. I’ve never seen it like this before.

maybe an off day when we went, but a couple things why i’m probably rating maybe more harshly than other places: 1. my mom is thai, i grew up eating home cooked thai meals and i’ve been to thailand several times, so i know what legit thai food is. 2. pad thai is the baseline by which i judge thai restaurants, and if you’re going to name your restaurant after this dish, it better be your best dish(in this case it was not). so we had the thai noodle soup and the pad thai. the noodle soup was great(it’s the thai version of what vietnamese people call phở). the soup base was well flavored with a fair amount of noodles and fixings(bean sprouts, beef balls, and slices of beef). the pad thai, man this really killed it for me. if i had been rating this restaurant just on this dish alone, i’d have to give it 1 star. it was mediocre. first, the texture – the pad thai we received was wet. very wet, like each bite was dripping w/fluid. pad thai is supposed to be a dry noodle dish. and because it was so wet, it ruined the texture of the noodles. instead of well defined noodles, it was more like mush. next, the flavor – thai food is bold, and blends a lot of flavors together, pad thai is great because its supposed to be a little sour(from the tamarind), a little salty, a little sweet, and a little spicy. you should get all of that. but here is where they also failed, and i think also explains why the dish was so wet – all i tasted was saltiness. with each bite each first thought was how salty their pad thai was – like it was soaked in soy sauce, which is probably what happened as the dish looked soupy at the end.
