I dined at this establishment a couple of years ago, the food was great. However on my most recent visit the interior smelt strongly of bleach, strangely giving myself a flash back to my early childhood swimming lessons. We ordered nachos, arriving close to 30 minutes later accompanied by our meals. The nachos were basically olives and jalapenos, with a few soggy chips. We didn’t eat them. I ordered the«Barries famous» fish and chips. It was 2 for 1 fish and chips and I was told if I couldn’t eat it all I wasn’t allowed to take the rest home, they would throw it in the garbage instead. The fish looked good, unfortunately placed on top of the fries which made them soggy and inedible. Upon cutting into the fish, I was very disappointed as there was a thick, milky white slime on the fish itself, absolutely disgusting. To sum up the night, the food was inedible, the location smelt strongly of bleach and we actually went to the McDonalds drive thru afterwards. Haven’t done that in years but boy was it edible and satisfying . You couldn’t pay me to come back to this establishment. «Barries worst» fish and chips sounds better.

Just meh… it was okay. The music was great as it was my mom and I out for dinner and drinks. The food, although it took forever to be served, was really good. I got fish and chips and mom got a chicken dish. The server was really attentive, granted she should have been as there were only a handful of people there but she was really very nice. My only complaint would be the amount of time you wait for your food. Don’t hold your breath.

cheap wing tuesday special, not so special. we ordered the wing special(49 cent wings) and you HAVE to order a drink in order to get the special and the drinks came to more than what the wings cost. the waitress was a ignorant witch and the owner is dirty and very sexist. I don’t recommend visiting this dimly lit, poor excuse for a pub.

Food is good, drinks are solid. But good luck getting your order taken without waiting 20 minutes. After that it might take them another 10 to bring over just one pitcher of beer. They have good music, though, and the staff is really nice once they actually realize you might be there to eat or drink something instead of sitting aimlessly.

So, I have never written a review before. But I can’t help but warn others this time. Living in Barrie we’ve been to «The BA» many times for beers or wings. It’s too dark, too loud and the service has never been good. Nothing compares to how horrible our brunch experience this morning was. We live around the corner and decided to try the brunch menu($ 3.50 Caesars duh).the bartender was serving us because of course the server was no where to be found, but this bartender had no idea how to make a drink. After a few Caesars we asked for honey jack Daniel with iced tea, which we made sure they had. She brought us full pint glasses of ice tea and sprite with a shot of jack on the side and seemed confused when I asked for a shorter glass to mix it myself.(Having tended bar for 3 years+ previously I was dumbfounded) Aside from that the food we ordered took 50 minutes, not including how long it took for her to ask our order on a clearly slow day, and none of it was good. I asked for eggs Benny and«can I please have the bacon on the side» apparently meant I wanted extra bacon on the side. No I’m a vegetarian and my boyfriend was going to eat the bacon. The eggs were half hard boiled, no one wants to eat that. My boyfriends plate looked like one egg scrambled and it was freezing cold, the waffle that came with it was burnt to a crisp, put burnt side down. Still cold. The pemeal I took off my Benny was rubber and not cooked throughly. For taking almost an hour(when there was about 5 other customers there) you’d think it would have been delicious. Basically if You don’t read all that, the bartender couldn’t understand how drinks were made, the server never showed up, the food took almost an hour and was still cold. And it all still cost us $ 70.00. We tried many times to give this pub a fair chance but every time the service lets us down or someone gets food poisoning. Don’t go here.

Besides the slow service, poor service; the food was pretty good. We got some wings which took about and hour but were deliscous. The big problem we ran into, we are on the patio, my girlfriend finally gets a refill for her drink and wind takes an umbrella out. Close call, but this one missed us. Two wind gusts later and about 15 minutes apart the umbrella 3 tables over takes flight, it nails our table knocking over a couple drinks and hits my girlfriend. The drinks spill allover her. Where’s the waitress? Laughing. They are terrible. Didn’t even offer a discount for our trouble and making my gf soaked in pop and beer… Not even a refill. DONTEATHERE.

*this would be a 2.5 stars review, but as we all know we can only put round numbers here. For a Saturday night, the crowd was mature and cool and not too hipster or pretentious. We didn’t have any food, but the drinks are what you would expect from any old pub. They did have my heart when the bartender used Tanqueray gin for my gin and tonic. None of that cheap stuff! There was a live band and a good mixture in between sets. The bathrooms are clean and stay that way throughout the whole night. What more could you ask for from your average neighbour pub?

Ended up here after a recommendation. Food was great, service was good too and it was very reasonably priced. The only thing is that it is quite loud. I would definitely go back.

Normally we just come for wings and drinks(which are consistently good), but we were in a couple weeks ago for lunch. I ordered a yorkshire pudding bowl with prime rib, potatoes, corn and gravy, but asked for it to not be all mixed together and rather had it «deconstructed.» The bowl was delicious. The meat was overdone, fatty and tasted nasty — maybe microwaved. The potatoes, corn and gravy had for sure been microwaved(food doesn’t get THAT hot without help from chef Mike). When our server came to check, I brought it to her attention, and she claimed that nothing was microwaved, but quickly cleared my plate and asked if I wanted something else. We didn’t have time, so I shared my husband’s fish and chips, which was awesome. Service runs from average to excellent, and has never disappointed, but I think we’ll stick to the wings.

We stopped in last evening to check it out and had a beer. The beer selection isn’t great … just big name brands with one craft beer that changes every month(this month’s is King City). There were a handful of people there when we were there. Some were eating and the food looked good. Our server took good care of us. It was a comfortable bar and we sat at a table by the front windows which were open. Great place to watch people.
