You know, you come back to a place time and time again and you expect the same fare and some good and some bad dining experiences. Not so with Groovy Tuesdays. I’ve been eating here for years and each time I’m remembered, treated well, and eat delicious food. The food is always great; new ideas, new menus and a great variety. Ingredients are always fresh and the open kitchen proves to their patrons that they’re on top of all aspects of running a great restaurant, not just the front of the house. Looking forward to eating here for years to come.

Not impressed. We waited 55 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant between the time we ordered and the time our entrees arrived. No one came to acknowledge the wait or give a reason for it. The food was decent but certainly not worthy of the price point. Will not return.

This restaurant is one of my favourites in Barrie. The menu is small but it is always varied and no matter what you order you know it is going to taste amazing. Presentation, food portions and just good food makes this restaurant a hit for us as we’ll as anyone we send there.

Big fan of this restaurant, I’ve been coming for years. It’s got an intimate chic feel, it’s classy, but not overly fussy. White linen tablecloths and fresh flowers at each table. The menu isn’t huge, but I’ve never been at a loss to find something I like. The hubby and I went for dinner last night. To start we split a Ceasar salad. If you’re having it as an appetizer, one’s plenty for two people. What’s nice is they’ll split it without you having to ask them(so no risk of your greedy husband eating more then his half) Their salad is delicious, one of the best Caesars I’ve had. Dressing is flavourful, but not too strong and it’s topped with the most delicious bacon(I think it’s actually Panchetta) For my entrée I had the grilled ostrich with veggies and a root vegetable risotto. The ostrich was delicious,(tastes most simular to steak) it’s cooked very rarerly and has a lot of flavour. He had a grilled chicken breast stuffed with provelone and served with Polenta. He said it wasn’t bad, I tried a bite and the chicken was really moist flavourful. I thijnk I was a bigger fan then he was. To finish off the meal I ordered their Crème Brulee. Heaven in a little cup. The service was great, waitress refilled drinks without being asked and was very friendly. Price is decent, entrees mostyly run between $ 18-$ 30. Been many times before and I’ll be going back many more.

The atmosphere of this place is clean fresh and I felt like I was sitting in little spring cabin. Corks line the ceiling, striking abstract art along the walls and fresh cut yellow flowers were on every table. The kitchen is open so you can see where the magic happens… Our waitress was super cute, friendly and attentive. I am almost positive that she is either the owner or the manager. We started with the Vegetarian Springrolls… they were gross! They had an odd strong ginger taste. Their drink menu consists of a wine list & bar rail. For the entrée I got the chicken club ciabatta with salad, which was tasty but the chicken was a little dry. I was just in the middle of stating that carrots have no business in a salad when I took a bite and was forced to literally eat my words. The salad was phenomenal and its genius was in the crunchy fried chickpeas sprinkled all over it. My best friend told me that whatever I did I had to try the crème brûlée… and it was amazing! Usually crème brûlées are brilliant at the top and fade to mediocre once its crust has been eaten, this one was good from start to finish. The music playing seems like it came right from my iPod: Neko Case, Lili Allen, Emilliana Torrini, Carla Bruni and Radiohead. On a side note the woman’s washroom was cute and featured a small stash of feminine hygiene products in a basket(we’ve all been there!)
