So let me start by saying I have been here before and the food was OK, not great but decent. The service is usually more of the problem but this time the service was good! We were hungry and in the mood for some hearty chow so we stopped in. We were seated quickly and got our pop quickly. To be honest the pop was SUPERGROSS… I am pretty sure it is because of the local water being super strong flavored so it just permeated the pop and ice cubes with a really earthy taste. The locals are probably used to it. $ 6.50 for two pops. Hubby ordered the philly beef which was HUGE and decent but not overly flavorful. The fries were good. I got super excited about the chicken and waffles with sirracha maple syrup and make butter. Sadly when the dish came there was next to no syrup at all, and not even any hint of sirracha. It was a super bland, dry meal. Bummer. We have decided we are going to quit stopping there and hoping for good things to happen because they never quite seem to. At least no server dropped anything on our head this time!(Calamari and dipping sauce on my sister in law. It was epic. And then they charged us for it.) Maybe save your pennies and try another place close by instead.

All-you-can-eat fish and chips with a pint of Flying Monkeys beer for $ 17.99 on Mondays — can’t go wrong! :) Great service, reasonable food. Potato fries were a bit wimpy as per the other reviewers but the sweet potato fries were delicious. Overall a fun atmosphere for a night out! It does sort of remind one of a Canadian ski lodge haha.

Loved the atmosphere and décor. There’s Canadian paraphernalia everywhere. To top it off a hockey game was playing in the bar area. We sat in the restaurant area in seats that had pictures of moose on it. Food portions were generous. Staff were friendly and attentive. Had a pint of the local Flying Monkeys brew. Would recommend for tourists and people passing through town.

My fiancé and I came here for the first time today to try this place out. We were seated right away, and our server was with us within a minute to offer us water while we looked at the menu. We decided to try the cheese nachos which were great. I always add extra cheese, and they didn’t skimp on it. We also ordered wings to share with a maple chipotle sauce, these are big wings! Very meaty and super tasty! Highly recommend! Also our waiter gave us excellent service. Very attentive, friendly, and didn’t rush you. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet during the week. They have a bar area with lots of Tv’s to watch as well. Good place to come and relax with good food and drinks alone or with family/friends! Give it a try !

Food was not horrible. Service on the other hand was very poor. Server took over 20 min before we got our drinks and appetizer did not come at all. Bill arrived before plates were off table. Would not return.

This is written by someone who resides in the US so please take my opinions with a grain of salt since I’m not sure what the standard is at Canadian chain restaurants. Moose Winooski’s reminds me of Outback Steakhouse — except Canadia-fied. Instead of an Aussie theme, the ambience is reminiscent of a ski/mountain lodge with lots of moose paraphernalia hanging around. The service is pretty quick and friendly, so no real complaints there. French onion soup is very yummy and well-portioned. We also got the poutine which was filling but could have been a little hotter. The fries were kind of limp as soon as they hit the table. I’ve never had poutine before so I can’t make a legitimate comparison, but it definitely wasn’t bad. Salmon entrée is a little flavorless and dry — the rice that came with it also tasted like it was possibly undercooked and not seasoned. Portion size is decent but the prices here aren’t exactly cheap either. The fish tacos appetizer is big enough to serve as an entrée but some of the fried filets had so much breading on them that it was rock hard. My experience here wasn’t horrible but the food just wasn’t that impressive.

We LOVE the nachos at this restaurant. So much so that we rarely order anything else. If you go for the nachos get extra cheese and ask for bacon. These nachos are out of this world good. I have had the meatloaf(good for restaurant fare) and the fish and chips(also good). Quite loud, but this is the kind of restaurant Moose Winooski’s is. Service is always good.

Came here… with some friends after BLUEMOUNTAIN…(as per JACOB F’s) review below! lol… still waiting for Bonnie W & Ilona G to review this joint. This place is very similar to Montana’s or your typical steakhouse bar! but anyhow we were quite impressed since it was opened so late on a Sunday til 1am. in BARRIE! yes I said Barrie indeed. Getting to the grind: we all ordered a round of drinks; beers, and limited selection of vino available. However we were here for some culinary… foodie justice. I ended up ordering their Bourbon Pulled Pork Poutine: it was an overall 3⁄5! I still think Fran’s Restaurant does it better. The price was reasonable $ 9, the portion were satisfying. Without the Bourbon sauce, this dish would have been a 2⁄5. The fries along with the pork really brought down the quality of this dish. The fries seemed over cooked, or perhaps it was the cut of fries, i would have preferred fresh, golden fries. Reason being it adds more thickness, and ability to absorb the sauce along with the cheese. The pork, it was scarce… you had to look for the pork, as well it lacked the typical sweetness of pulled pork. Hence this dish was a fail on my books. HOWEVER!!! I was able to try some of the sweet potato poutine which was a lot better than what I had, and this was 4⁄5! a lot more flavor, quality of fries was a lot better. the light ranch sauce topped off really gave the dish some versatility along with the smoked bacon, and green onions! yummy!!! The service was OOOKAY. however it was a bit slow in terms of getting the bill. Would I come back, probably not.

I stopped here with a group of friends for a post-Blue Mountain drink and snack and was pretty impressed. Even though it was after 11 at night the food and drinks came quick, hot and well made. Fish tacos were pretty delicious. The tartar sauce that came with them made them creamy and delicious which was awesome when combined with a little acidity from the lime. Loaded sweet potato fries were also great: sweet potato fries, melted cheese, bacon, and a mayonnaise-based sauce all over them. They were delicious. Pulled pork poutine wasn’t especially great. The fries were a little underwhelming(not crispy enough), but the gravy was pretty good and the pulled pork was OK. My friends DID complain a little about the wine selection, but honestly who orders wine at a place like this? Haha. My beer was cold and refreshing… Worth a stop on the way to the cottage or a stop in on the way back from skiing for those from the GTA.

The food is served in large portions… the place reminds me of a Outback Steakhouse«A la Canadian». Food is typical, you’ll be extremely full when you leave this place.
