I must be stupid. Nando’s first opened in Richmond BC in 1994. I regularly spent time in Richmond on business, and I can easily recall passing Nando’s nearly every night to get to one of the first Starbucks in Canada on Number 3 Road.
It took over 20 years before I wound up in a new Nandos location in Barrie. 20 wasted years! 20 years of Swiss Chalet, KFC, Mary Brown’s and none of it compares with Nando’s.
I had the Double Leg dinner, succulent and rich in flavour. For a unique side dish I had the marinated olives. Being able to select a variety of spice levels and having total control over the bottle of hot sauce makes for a perfect level of excitement.
Nando’s marketing claims that their chicken is addictive. No, my glazed expression, constant drooling, and uncontrollable desire to drive up to Barrie every day is not a sign of addiction. I swear, I can stop anytime I like! And yes, I clearly am stupid, but trying to make amends.

Just as good, maybe better than the UK original Nandos! Very fresh wraps and the Peri Peri sauce is awesome. Make sure to get the hummus with a peri peri drizzle. The wings are great as well. Awesome kids menu. Very family friendly. Super clean atmosphere. Delicious food. You have to try it!
