Waiting for a repair call on a new dishwaser — they have twice cancelled on me at the last minute — after me staying home all day waiting for their repair person. Absolutely disgraceful customer service here in Calgary AB. They tell me to call and reschedule the appt for the third time?! Have been a long time Sears customer but my next set of appliances will NOT be purchased from Sears.

We ordered a leather couch that was supposed to be delivered today. Couch was ordered 6 weeks ago. I received the bill for it 2 weeks ago and made a payment towards it. We call our Sears store today to find out the estimated delivery time. We are told the order auto cancelled itself and the order for the couch to be manufactured does not exist, even though the BILL arrived just fine! Long story short, we were told we’d get free delivery which is worth $ 69 effing dollars and $ 100 dollars off the order(bill was over $ 2700) but it won’t be delivered until Sep. 5. That’s less than 5% off the price, only for us to wait in total a quarter of a YEAR for a couch to arrive. Absolutely livid. Will be calling again tomorrow. Store was unhelpful where we ordered, and customer service even more so. Do not order anything custom made from Sears. How an order disappears but you are billed for it still is beyond my understanding. How nothing can be done other than $ 100 off is also unacceptable. I might even consider cancelling the order all together and taking my business elsewhere.

After years of waiting, growing up, and hard work, our long-time friend, Jere, finally got himself married earlier today to a worthy partner who is his equal in intelligence, open-mindedness, and self-effacing humor. All of the things we like about our friend, we see reflected in and complemented by his bride, positive signs that their joyful union on this day will surely be a successful one in the long-term. Sensible Thirty-Somethings: A gift registry can reveal telling things about a bride and groom. Ther and Jere(rhyme it!) set up their registry at Sears Canada, filling it with well-made and functional items intended to last them a long time, like a sturdy luggage quartet to travel well with, solid-colored linens to keep home décor neutral and warm, healthy kitchenware to cook up good food and host dinner parties with at home, as well as an assortment of easy care products and task simplifiers to help maximize our friends’ relaxing, gaming and play time together. Promoting U.S.-Canada Relations: Besides providing a practical gift registry, Sears is a convenient option for people who have friends and family in both the U.S. and Canada, as it allows American senders to gift Canadian recipients using U.S.-based credit cards and addresses. We still paid the Canadian price for our registry item, gift box, flat-rate shipping and handling, and GST/HST; the little fees added up. At least the exchange rate is about even. We aren’t always able to participate directly in U.S.-to-Canada(or vice versa in the past) registry gift giving, so we were glad to actually be able to use our friends’ wedding registry this time so that we could get them something we were sure they would want and didn’t already have. Whenever the happy couple use their monogrammed bath towel set, and although it might be kind of creepy to write, we hope that they will think fondly of us. Due to a mixture of poor planning and the high costs of airline tickets, we couldn’t be there to celebrate their special day with them in person, but thanks to Sears and an easy-to-use gift registry, we feel like we gave our friends a soft and absorbent expression of our warmest wishes.

Sometimes, it is not easy to deal with a large corporation or company, but too, it pays to be persistent, and to be honest. I have had trouble with a new dishwasher for a long time, and it was not easy, but things have been settled and truly, I really appreciate it. I know many other companies would not honour the fact I am a long standing client, but Sears did. So thank you.
