This park is a lovely space to go ice skating in the winter or to enjoy the warmth that summer evenings bring. It’s located close to downtown Brampton where you can grab a cup of tea after skating or ice cream from local shops around the park. In the winter time, they decorate the space and wrap each tree with lights. The rink is well maintained and it’s great to see families come out together to enjoy the season. In the summer, the ice rink is turned back into a walking path. With ample benches around, families are able to enjoy their ice cream or cold drink under the trees. A great park in the city of Brampton!

The ice skating is ok, unless it’s full of moronic, annoying, loud teenagers. I proposed to an ex wife here, so it’s a bit tarnished!

Lee and I wandered through the park in the winter, when it is transformed from a central town park into an ice skating track. It was really lovely to see people skating around, even late at night, with music pumping on speakers throughout the area. There were skate rentals, at reasonable prices, and a number of food trucks in attendance. It was a nice place to do some people watching after dinner, and skating off your meal. I think the only way it could be improved would be a better walkway for pedestrians, but it’s somewhat understandable that there isn’t, considering it’s the sidewalk that’s turned into the ice skating trail. I’ll definitely want to visit again in the warmer months.

Gage Park is a multi function park just located right across from Brampton City Hall. This is where most of the festivities: Rib Fest and Classic Cars and Legendary Stars weekend are held annually. During the summer, there are also concerts being held in the gazebo. I love the tall mature trees all around the park which provides a lot of shade. The flower beds are so pretty with so many flowers in their full bloom! In winter, the circular path walkway becomes a skating trail. Gage Park is the oldest park in Brampton, originally opened in 1903.
