The best jewellery-making and bead supply store on the East Coast, The Java Bead offers first class supplies(certainly pricier than you can buy in Toronto, but heck, it’s in Bridgewater NS!) and a fabulous line up of workshops and classes on jewellery making, mostly wirework, beadweaving and stringing. Liz, the owner, makes a few buying trips each year to the States, and always comes back with something special. I’ve taken many of her classes, and I’ve hosted a few birthday parties here, and I always come back for more!

Brew up a bead. This little haven is outwards from the city, but a spot with heart and great intentions. Owned by long-time jewelry maker, Liz Carter, the idea here is to give our locale a more inspired selection of beads, as well as provide classes. Pop in, get that independently owned charm and a fresh cup of coffee. This is a promising stop for crafters and the craft inspired. Fantastic beads and the opportunity to learn collaborate with a platform of passion to make it worth visiting.
