Very overpriced with tiny portions. For these prices, I would expect table service instead of counter. Food is just ok, seasoning is nothing special. On par with Swiss Chalet

Amazing food and very clean and friendly. The only reason they will never receive a 5 star from me would be the service model… I don’t understand why they just don’t serve you… I think this«serve yourself» model just cheapens their image. On lunch break I never eat fast food. I want to enjoy my downtime and chill out while eating a healthy meal. I’m not lazy I just respect downtime. Here you do all the work except… they will bring the food to your table from the kitchen. When you pre pay, the interact machine asks for a tip(this isn’t default this is setup this way****) So do you tip? Your not being served, plus then you are being asked for a tip before you even eat or drink anything… I just don’t get it I saw this one table of two ladies get up out of their booth to grab their own drink. Then they got up again to grab katchup and utensils. They got up about 4 — 5 times when you factor in ordering/pre paying. Management should look into the flaws in this non service model. Great food and very clean but I can’t even take a customer here for a business lunch it would be way too much back n forth to even get into a conversation and enjoy a lunch meeting.

I love Nando’s! So enjoyed it when I was in Melbourne, Australia and this is the closest one until we get our very own in Oakville soon! Bustling place on a Saturday night. I still can’t say I get the whole be seated and then go up to cash and order and then they bring the food to your table thing. And don’t forget to pick up your own cutlery, napkins, and your peri peri sauce. Ordered the Portuguese garlic bread, skewers with Peri peri fries and ¼ chicken with veggies. Garlic bread was toasted triangles of their Portuguese bread. Crunchy, chewy, toasted garlicky bread. Even better slathered in some peri peri sauce. Chicken leg was moist tender perfectly cooked mighty fine meat even tastier slathered in peri peri sauce. Sensing a theme here? Also got something new –peri-Annaise kind of like dijonaise but with peri peri sauce. Can use that on a lot of things too! Roasted veggies were good too. Great place for a bite to eat lunch or dinner. Just go for it when the mood strikes!

I just can’t get over why a restaurant would be decorated so nicely and look so professional, only for you to be told as you’re seated that you have to make an order yourself at a register and make your own drinks/pick up your own cutlery before your meal. Great, I just walked into the fanciest looking cafeteria… I feel bad for the workers there because I just assume the whole scheme is designed for them to get tipped less in order to artificially make the experience less expensive for customers. The food is adequate, but the portion sizes are not worth it. Pass. Not going back.

I had heard about Nando’s chicken before on the Internet, but I did not know that they had brought the chain to Canada. So, walking in, I didn’t know exactly what to expect, at first, but I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The food was good for a moderate price – homey and flavourful. I ordered the hot chicken quarter meal with piri piri fries. I got the dark meat, and it was well-cooked but still juicy, although I believe my friends mentioned that the breast meat leant a bit on the drier side. For this reason, I would definitely recommend bringing some of the piri piri sauce to your table, I particularly enjoyed the garlic one. Okay, so this is where I was really impressed: the dining experience. Although I would have been pleased with my meal either way, while we were waiting for our food, one of the owners of the restaurant came over to our table and offered us a complementary piri piri spiced nut mix, and also promised us dessert at the end of our meal. It was not only such a nice and welcoming gesture to get to talk to the owner about the chain, but to also try some items on the menu that we wouldn’t have ordered otherwise. And, the dessert was really good! A nice way to end our dining experience. We got to try the Nando’s kiss, a kind of chocolate ice cream tartufo, a slice of carrot cake and a Portuguese egg tart. All three were great, although I was slightly partial to the carrot cake, being a sucker for the hint of nutmeg in the cake. I would definitely go out Nando’s Burlington again.

Had the ¼ chicken with hot peri-peri sauce, peri fries and their peri side sauce. Chicken tender moist and awesome. I still would prefer not having to go up to order, but small price to pay for the great food. Try the nuts you will be pleasantly surprised.

We stopped here on a whim on New Year’s Eve when looking for a fast place to eat. In need of some serious vegetables after a food heavy holiday season, I ordered the roasted sweet potato and quinoa salad with chicken. The chicken was delicious — very flavourful and not at all dry. But the sweet potatoes weren’t fully cooked and the avocado was a weird puke green colour and had an off flavour — I could tell it wasn’t freshly cut. My boyfriend had the double leg dinner with two sides and said it was ok but nothing special.

Average food. Signature chicken is no better than any other chicken restaurant. Tasted stewed. Cole slaw so covered in cloying sauce it was inedible.

Tried take out. Took almost 20 minutes and the place was not even a quarter full. Pretty dissapointed with the food too. Chicken was very close to being undercooked. Ordered 2 sides. The fries were half full but the sweet potatoes were OK. Overall not impressed. Meal cost almost 20 dollars with no drink. Not very good value for what you get. I’ll stick to Swiss Chalet.

My son and I were at Nando last night for dinner. Going up to the counter to pay for everything beforehand — too weird. It was surprisingly expensive. When we got our food, which consisted of chicken skewers with fries for my son, ¼ chicken with mashed potatoes for myself, and an order if wings to share. All the chicken was disgustingly greasy. Grease just seemed to ooze out of everything. I complained and was offered free meals the next time I go, which I doubt I will take advantage of. If they’re trying to compete with Swiss chalet is not going to happen. It’s only a latter of time, this place won’t last.

I went with my mom and we were very excited to try somewhere different. The staff was extremely friendly especially the girls at the front were very helpful since we were first timers. There was an emergency that occurred while we were there that the staff handled very well, and the manager came out and apologized to us after. The atmosphere was also great but my only complaint was the food. We both got the half chicken with corn on the cob, coleslaw, and rice with olives to start. After hearing about how long the chicken is marinated I was expecting it to be very flavourful but it tasted like plain white chicken, it was good but I would go to swiss chalet for close to the same thing. The corn was a bit dried out and the rice a little hard. The coleslaw was very good. I was also surprised by how spicy the mildest sauce was. I’m still glad I tried this place espec with their deal to get a free bottle of sauce with a 30 dollar gc and a 10 dollar off coupon, and the staff was excellent the food was just not as flavourful as I would have expected.

The chicken, which is the main attraction, is great. My wife and I loved it. However even the plain chicken was too spicy for our boys(10 and under). The garlic bread was also great. The fries were good, but stay away from the mashed potatoes, rice, and frozen yogurt. The service staff are nice, but its busy and you end up waiting in line a fair bit. So get your order right the first time. Overall I’d get the chicken again, but it won’t be a family outing until the kids enjoy spicy food.

Really disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this place out. We ordered our food(you have to go up to the counter and pay beforehand) and 45 minutes later had to find somebody that could find out what was happening. They told us that our food order was placed in the takeout orders and that it would be right out because they would put a rush on it. 15 minutes later we were presented with the most miniscule portions of chicken that I have ever seen. Whatever chicken there was, didn’t really stand out. No chance of seeing my family there again. Also, even if the portions of the food were adequate, it would be expensive for a place that has next to no service at all. They bring your food out to you and that is it. No checking if your meal is good. Makes Swiss Chalet stand out.

Tried this for the first time and had the chicken with sweet potatoes, chicken was delicious however the sweet potatoes were awful! My son had the mashed potatoes and they were delicious. I’m a first impressions type of gal so I doubt I will be going back plus I don’t enjoy the cafeteria feel of ordering my own food. Not for me but i’m sure others might enjoy!

It was Lambert’s pick this week and he decided that we would try a new restaurant in the area Nando’s. It is a cool place with a very unique vibe. They have some really good chicken here. I got the quarter chicken breast combo and it was great. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. On the side I had the Peri-Peri fries and that seasoning is awesome. I could have it on everything. For drinks they do have alcohol but I opted for soda and they had one of those Coke Freestyle machines which are just great. I just love all the selection you get with them. We will definitly be back to Nando’s in the near future.

Tried this new place with my wife for lunch. Very pleasantly surprised. Great change from the usual boring lunch fare, Nando’s is bright, clean and vibrant. It knows what it does, and does it well. If your not a pirri pirri chicken fan, avoid this place. But if you are, like me, you’ll live the bbqed chicken, which is grilled in front of you to perfection and is beautifully marinated(which you can buy in bottles at the restaurant). Nice heat too! I had ‘hot’ which was definitely hot but not overbearing. Choice of great sides, salads fresh in nice portions with self serve choice of dressings. Only reason it didn’t get a five-star from me is that the service was a bit bumpy. Girl who took orders couldn’t say what was in a Casa salad(you’re gonna get that question a lot — I’d find out!) and I got the wrong salad delivered and my drink was late. But seems to me it’s just early pains as the place isn’t open long. Very attentive and friendly owner made it all no issue. If you want something different and like Med or Brazilian style chicken, give this place a try. I know I’ll be back!

This place has good food at reasonable prices. I admit I was caught off guard a bit as I wasn’t expecting such a fancy looking place. They have a greeter at the door who will hand you a menu and assign your table a number. This is cafeteria ordering style though. You need to look at the menu and order at the counter and pay up there. You’ll need to give your table number to them if you’re eating in and they’ll eventually bring your order to the table. You have to make your way over to fill your own drink(if you ordered pop) through a Coke Freestyle machine as well as they have all the cutlery and napkins as well as hot sauce selections there. They have beer but I had a bit of an issue getting my drink as my food came before my drink had actually arrived. The person behind the counter has to bring it to the table and it can only be somebody that is allowed to serve alcohol. She was a bit backed up with orders etc so I had to wait until she arrived. I’d ordered the half chicken with fries piri piri style. The fries basically were just sprinkled some sort of seasoning and I had asked for medium hot sauce on my chicken. Ordering a half chicken I was simply given a quarter dark and a quarter white with the fries and some sort of spicy mayo dipping sauce as well. The prices are basically the same or close to what a Swiss Chalet would be. The chicken I found to be very tasty as well as juicy and not dried out even the white meat which is even better when the sauce is on it and adds even more to the taste. Honestly to me Portuguese chicken’s greatest asset is the fact that the sauce that goes with it tastes so good provided you have tasty sauce and this place has it and a variety to select for even more side sauce. I like the décor and the cafeteria style is fine by me. We were served pretty quickly except for the alcohol which I had to wait for a while to get.

Great chicken as always. Very tasty and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice as well. The coke machine is a lot of fun as well with a huge selection of drinks to choose from. Having been to Nando’s in other countries I was disappointed that the sauce selection was not the same. The reason that this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star is the ordering/payment method. You have to order and pay for everything(including tip) prior to actually getting any food/service. It’s weird because they have a host who seats you with menus but then you have to get up yourself and place the order and pay.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation. Great chicken. Good atmosphere. Chicken was very well made and incredibly tasty. The sauces were great but not at all as spicy as advertised. Had the«extra hot», which would have been medium at best at any wing place. But it did still taste good though. Biggest down side for me was the fact that you had to order at the counter and pay first even though it was not fast-food. Having to tip before even getting any service was definitely a turn off. It resulted in me tipping much lower than what I would usually tip.
