Chickadee Boutique

I am disappointed with this store. First of all, the hours are terrible. It seems they are often closed. I had such high hopes for a cute store in Burnaby but both women who work there are standoffish, not exactly welcoming in such a small space. The first time I was put off by the younger girl telling my daughter «dont touch those bracelets! you might break them and the owner wont like that» In the MOST condescending tone. Which was ridiculous because my daughter is really well behaved and I was standing right there supervising her looking at the bracelets. However, I went back a second time thinking maybe it was just an «off» day and perhaps it was just a young staff member who didn’t know how to treat customers yet. The next time I was in, the owner was working and again wasn’t openly friendly or trying to help me. Then she too barked at my daughter not to touch the glass that holds the jewelry. My poor kid left and started to cry because she didnt know what she had done wrong. I will never shop there again. It is a very hard world out there for retailers, you have to treat your customers with respect!

This shop is adorable and exactly what the Heights needed! I’ve lived in this area most of my life and have seen fashion boutiques come and go. I hope Chickadee is here to stay. The layout of the store is almost like being in a fashionista’s walk in closet. The selection may not be as wide as other stores but it shows that the owner puts some thought and time into hand picking beautiful pieces of clothing for the boutique.
The customer service is amazing. I went there to find a dress for my birthday and received many recommendations as well as honest opinions on how I looked in all the outfits I tried on.
Looking at the other reviews maybe they should have a broader range of sizes but as I am a very petite Asian girl that has never been a problem for me shopping at Chickadee.

wow so I wrote a review regarding this joke of a store and wow, someone flagged the review as «inapropriate». No bad language, no racist comments, just a bad review for the shop owner, (gee I wonder who flagged my review?).
So I“ll do this again:
In short: sizes don’t go above 12 (a small 12 so it acutally fits like a 10), over priced clothing that’s made in 3^rd world countries, and the staff (snotty 20 something’s) ignore you if you’re over 30 and over a size 10. My friends and I all have had the same experience so don’t waste the trip there. Too many other places to shop.
SAY YES TO REAL CLOTHING AT REAL PRICES FOR REAL WOMEN!
