I came here a few days ago to order their BBQ rib and it tastes pretty decent and has just the right amount of sweetness to it, which I would normally object to having in any of my BBQ. Next time I come here, I’m so going to try their roasted chicken leg with thigh.

Most dishonest BBQ shop I have ever experienced. You can only fool me once. Shame on you. I purchased a roasted duck and one lb of BBQ ribs. On purposely, he gave me more than one lb. The total purchase was $ 34.70. They only put the sign in Chinese that if you purchased more than $ 35.00 and you will get extra half a pound of roasted pork. No wonder they pushed me to buy more. Very deceiving. Most importantly, the skin of the roasted duck was NOT crispy and was soggy. The roasted pork ribs were too sweet and they were rather dry. NEVER again.

I usually come here to get lunch and always order the BBQ duck on rice. Its always a hit or miss. There are days when the duck is plentiful and full of juicy meat then there are days when I get very little duck and there is so little meat that it’s all bones. I will still come back here because its on my way to work and when I have my BBQ duck craving.

I was really impressed with the soy sauce chicken! The chicken itself was extremely succulent, moist and juicy. The flavours had fully penetrated into the meat, making the entire chicken very flavourful. As for the Char Siu, I was really disappointed. It was rather tough, and they sliced the meat far too choppy/thin. The meat wasn’t juicy or tender.

Unilocal can be truly hit or miss in Canada, unlike compared to the Bay Area. For Chinese BBQ, there are literally dozens of choices in every shopping mall you encounter in both Richmond and Burnaby. It’s really tough to know what to choose unless you’re patient and willing to try a lot of places. Luckily, if you know people who frequent the area often, you get a clearer pattern. This place(and perhaps HKBBQ Master that I was unable to visit) are the real deal. The BBQ here was amazing, easily the best I’ve had outside Hong Kong and blew the Bay Area out of the water. The Char Siu BBQ ribs had the perfect honey tinged sauce glaze and the meat was just slightly crispy and tender throughout. The Char Siu was very fatty but that’s where the flavor comes from and combined with the sauce and the lean portions was finger licking good. Finally, I had both the roast duck and the soy sauce chicken and each was tender, so tasty, and gone in seconds. The rice dish has no vegetables, but I didn’t really care. I was told to eat at this place and I wasn’t disappointed. Crystal Mall has come a LONG way since opening and has eats to compete with Richmond. Delicious BBQ is cash only.

Do not go here. This is a dishonest business, who will rip you off any chance they get. They have no sense of customer service. Some of the other businesses in this food court deserve you patronage more than this ripoff. If you do go here make sure you are charged the right amount!

Good food, amazing barb-b-q, just order some cheap vegetables from the stall beside it.

Tried the BBQ chicken and BBQ pork over rice for $ 6 I think? The meat was tasty but didn’t quite feel balanced enough as a ‘meal’ — there’s no sides or vegetables included here(the small single stem of brocolli and green onions don’t count).
