After waiting until five in the afternoon, the earliest Bombay Bistro will deliver, I was told their driver had the day off. After saying it was a large order, the staff attempted to find their second driver, unsuccessfully. It doesn’t matter how good the food could have been, because of bad organisation and management I’ll never know and I’m not inclined to try again.

This place was really great, in all aspects! Super clean, modern look, and tasty food! The amount of food you get here for the price is understandable and appropriate. Their mango lassi was also very tasty, not too creamy and not too mango-ey. I’ve eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and I’m happy to say that this was the best one I’ve eaten at on our Canadian vacation. Thanks for the great service and cleanliness of the place, it goes a long way!

We are so glad we found this place, fresh, hi quality, good portion size, great service. The flavours are masterly accomplished by the Sheff. If you haven’t already been here, this is a most.

Soooo good!!! Highly recommend this gem. Everything was awesome! I’ve eaten at some excellent Indian restaurants over the years… this is one of the best. Perfect Tandoori, the Palak Paneer is to die for, and no words for the Butter Chicken… mmmm! Our favourite restaurant in New Westminster!

We ordered veggie pakoras, naan, rice, veggie curry, beef vindaloo and tandoori chicken. We requested medium spice and it was perfect. We even had some leftovers! Total cost &53 plus tip. I would return here. The service was fast and the atmosphere was positive. Free street parking in front of restaurant.

Went here on recommendation of a friend. I’ll say that the décor was really a nice touch. And specially to go into that detail outside of downtown and show some pride. The dishes were hit and miss compare to my other regular joint. The Pakora was more fried then anything. And the naan was very greasy. Meanwhile the mango butter chicken was really good but again very oily. And the lamb massala was very tasty and juicy but lacked in the amount of lamb and had more potatoes. Bombay bistro is nicer than my regular spot. But the service was here nor there. Had to ask for refills on water and no refills on chai(which my regular spot does), and it was fairly blan and luke warm. I do prefer the authentic chai . I don’t think I’d go back due to the distance. And I am a stickler for service. Which seemed very condescending when you’d ask them something.

All was good, although service was a bit slow. Would recommend the fish pakora if anyone reads this before they go! The naan is also pretty good, but I had the plain naan so I just covered it in chicken and sauce.

Good food, but the service was so scattered tonight that it may be a while before we try them again(time to sink or swim). Took almost 45 minutes to get 2 bowls of curry and some rice. Order was messed up and they brought an incorrect dish. Seems like the servers were all new and nobody was in charge as issues started to pile up all around at more than a few tables.

Good portion sizes for the price. I really liked their naan and the mango butter chicken that I had was excellent. It’s the only dish that I had but it was recommended to me by some friends and they were right. I don’t come out to Burnaby often, but I would really like to try more of their dishes.

Friend & I shared Indian Bombay Bistro dinner which was like a «meat combo» served on a sizzling platter(includes plain naan), plus we added cheese naan and vegetable curry. It was so much food and it was all spectacular. I took home the leftovers for another full serving. Service was attentive and friendly(on a Saturday night), and the décor is cozy and hip.

Butter chicken sauce good. Naan good. Meats a bit overcooked. They got part of our order wrong(vegetable biryani instead of chicken). Would not order beef bhuna again, but butter chicken was good enough. There was a good amount of chicken in it.

Mango butter chicken was amazing. Rice was really good too. Vindaloo was not my favourite — too salty and the shrimp were a weird texture. The portions were good value. I would definitely recommend this place!

Went here a few nights ago for my sister’s birthday, and found it very delightful! It was a quiet evening, but our waitress was great. She would check up on us and informed us of the menu and was honest about the portion size. She recommended getting less between the 3 of us, and not trying to make more money out of it. I commend her for that! The atmosphere was great, very modern and sleek, and had very nice décor around the place. The booths were spacious and comfortable, and was very presentable. A must try is the chai tea– spicy and warm, made very well! The food was great, especially the chicken tikka masala(a must try). The chicken tasted absolutely fresh and well spiced. Also the mutter paneer was great, along with the poori. The portions were more than enough for three of us, and the dishes were cooked to perfection. Everything was hot and fresh, and brought in a timely manner. Definitely would be going back there again!

I learned about this restaurant thanks to the high rating on Unilocal. The restaurant definitely lived up to that rating. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food. The chicken dishes were so tasty. You can tell the chef knows their spice combinations for the meat dishes. The chili chicken was so good, we went back the following week and got it again. Their lamb curry was excellent as well. We also enjoyed the chicken biryani. We didn’t like the fish curry dish, as it seemed bland, or the fish didn’t seem fresh. The restaurant does an amazing job with its décor, despite being a slightly smaller space. The staff are friendly, too. The portions are really good. They do not skimp or cheap out on the meat in the dishes. We also had left overs afterwards. Tip: have your dishes at medium to really taste all the spices and flavors, and it isn’t all that spicy. Ordering it at «hot» will overload it with spiciness and have you gulping down a lot of water.

At first I thought it looked too fancy to be legit but I was so wrong! The naan was perfectly chewy, there were huge chunks of meat in every dish, the décor was awesome and bright, and the service was amazing! We had the gobi pakoras, chicken palak, chana masala and seafood vindaloo. The chana masala was my fave — so flavourful not just spicy, and the tenderly cooked chicken palak was a close second. Will definitely return to eat in or for takeout.

I’d been to this place twice. Both experiences were great. If you want to go to a presentable Indian Bistro this place is not going to disappoint you. The décor is current. The place is clean. I didn’t know what to order during my recent visit so to be safe I had the Butter Chicken. It was offered as a lunch menu so it was cheaper than the full order. It came with rice and naan bread. It was so yummy. I really like this place. My friends were raving about their orders too. I love this place so much that I’m giving it 4 stars — it didn’t matter that the servers/waitresses were slow in processing our payments. But by then we were fed so 4 stars it is.

So most Indian restaurants fall between two extremes. They either look good, but serve garbage, or they look super sketchy but serve the best food. This place manages to be pretty good at both. It’s got decent athmosphere(very Indian without being campy) and the food is pretty good. They aren’t going to set the Indian food scene on fire, but you’re not going to go wrong eating here.

Living in New Westminster you really only have a few choices for Indian and none of them are particularly good for one who grew up across the bridge in Surrey, a veritable Mecca of Indian food. So yesterday, when I was driving down Sixth and spotted Indian Bombay Bistro, I called DH and told him dinner was cancelled, we were going out! The ambiance is what hits you first. It’s a brand new building and a stunning restaurant with bright splashes of colour against dark laminate wood fixtures. Modern décor paired with comfortable booths. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the TVs, which cheapened the décor — but then I have a thing against TVs in nice restaurants. Leave them for the sports bars, please. Then you get hit with the attentive and friendly service. Our beers were delivered promptly, and with a smile, as were the glasses of water we requested. We were seemingly being cared for by multiple team members — not just one waitress. This was never really messy and came off pretty seemless. Total time in the restaurant was under an hour for two who weren’t on a social occasion. Finally, and the most important, is the menu. Indian Bombay Bistro has done a great job of bringing together several of the old favourites with some exciting and equally delicious new ones. For our first venture, we selected the Chicken Malai and the Eggplant Bharta, the Rice Palau, and a few naan(garlic and plain), The Chicken Malai was out of this world good. A new dish for us, it was as if Thai Curry got with Indian Korma at a bar one night and a star was born. The coconut cream was delicious, and the texture was amplified with the finely(grated?) onions that gave the sauce incredible body. I truly loved this dish. The Eggplant Bharta was also very good. It had better body than some of the other ones I’ve tasted and was well-seasoned. The Naan and Rice Palau were both very good, and I’d say better than the competition in the area. Both dishes had the character of being very well prepared. The spices were cooked properly and as such, blended together into a very flavourful, but not raw flavour. The plating and presentation, also equally good. This has turned into an very long review for this new restaurant(which I suspect will be booming in no time), but I hope it gives you an idea of what to expect. The only criticism is it was slightly more expensive than their Surrey counterparts, but I think they can charge it, given the quality and the competition! Note: I will go a few more times before I give it a solid five, but I suspect it will get there.
